thank you M&D
Although Saltheart and I didn't catch any fish to enter in the 3 leg of the four leg, we did catch 2 in the 28" to 30" range. I was glad to see some new faces to go with the names on the board.
Thanks Mike, the use of your lot for our gathering worked out well. As always the food was 5 stars. I'M sorry Steve from Mass couldn't make it, you and your shrimp were missed.

Thanks Mike, by the way I love the new setup, christened it right away with a bluefish. I got one 30" striper as well. Canalrat got a blue , small striper and a 38" striper. We ran into Slip, and Jetjockey and they were getting fish in the upper thirty inch range.
Jeesh sounds like Westport was the choice, nice fish guys.

Yes it was a great gathering yesterday. Thanks to M+D's bait and Tackle in Wareham for hosting the event. Excellent food , excellent people. Good to meet the new faces too. Guess we should have tagged along with you guys. Sounds like the fishing was outstanding! Canal fishing where we were was tough cause of weeds. Every cast you had used your back to hall in big clumps of weeds . Got some but nothing like the 40 inch fish caught elswhere. Hope to see everyone in the fall at the Rhody gathering.

Sounds like you guys had a good time. Good going redcrabber on your leading fish. I'll have to add that area to my list of places to try. Glad to hear you guys got into fish this time
I hit the road about 10 pm after getting the kids in bed and arrived at my rock to find the current screaming thru the ditch.
5 oz was in order. JJ18 was over to my right and getting a few fish, he came over and then we moved to the right where he was as they were'nt biting where I was. Managed 3 fish on 4 casts but then I had to change back to black as they slowed while JJ18 just about doubled my numbers. As soon as I switched to black I set up on a fish that took some drag and it took me up to the surface out in the middle of the ditch. Landed it and measured to over 37" fork.
Where we were there wasn't that much weed in the water but there was a piece or 2 of grass on every retrieve.
It was good to get out and fish.
Nice to meet you canalratt.
Congrats Smokey.

Congrats Smokey, it's a good thing you didn't wait any longer last friday.
Cris I hope you can make the RI leg.
It sure is a small world, it turns out that Canalrat is an old friend of my buddies uncle. We fished together last night , and it was the most fun I have had at the canal ever. Thanks Tony I look forward to fishing, and maybe hunting with you in the future.
I don't know how you guys jig that place for so long. It sure is tiring.
