Cod Jigs tube teasers and Braided Line Such a deal!

Ok guys here goes, right now I have ten pipe jigs. They weigh about 25 ozs. The price is 12$ each and I will bring them with me. I can make more but need to know to get my lead guy to make more. Fore River has the exact same ones and they are about 5$ more. I also have surgical tube teasers in assorted sizes and colers these are 1$ each and I can show you a little trick the sharpies in Maine use them connected onto the jig which means you can add a hook and still use a teaser above it. Best teasers are pink and white grubs or shrimps BTW. Now the best part I found a large spool of 36# Dacron line at a yard sale last year. Anyone (John, Tatoo) who brings their own rod and reel I will fill for ZIP< NO CHARGE< NADA<NOTHING! As long as the line lasts I should be able to fill a few. If you purchase a jig. John if you have extra boat rod I have a Jigmaster you can borrow. I need to know how many want jigs please, they get heavy lugging around!

Count me in on a jig, the line and I'm gonna o/Haul my 4/0 Senator and rewrap my boat rod...

What size pink or white grubs? I may have a few dozen of those. Also What size hooks are the best to bring??

Thanks much C-Ratt!!

Hold on a sec or two...

What all do we have to bring? If we rent their stuff, does that include jigs or bait or whatever.

I went out on a Captain John's boat a few years ago and they had all the bait, etc. Is this the same deal, or do we need our own terminal tackle?

Just don't want to show up unprepared... and to be honest, if this starts getting closer to an $80-90 trip, that's half of the Lowrance x49 I want to put on the new boat I want to buy... and if I buy a boat, I better buy my wife something really nice for Christmas, like d-d-d... the "d" word earrings!

And then their's that fancy new Jeep I just bought...

So I gonna get right cheap over the next couple months. You get what I is sayin'...

Usually, these boats will dish out a bunch of clams. When you rent, they also usually rig you up with a hook & weight. You clam up and drop to the bottom and pull up just a little above. What some are talking about is to jig for cod with teasers which can be more productive (but by no means always) than just dunkin' clams. Now I'm no cod expert (or expert anywhere IMO) but a lot of people prepare for both and see which is most productive... Some also mix it up and put teasers on a clam rig...

I figure I'll do a combination of both provided my gear is OK, otherwise, I'll rent and clam it...

John grubs around 3" to 4" work fine. Bring any old rubber you have it will work.

I've always heard the pink tails are the best. They say they look like shrimp at depth.

What the heck, I'll take one, just wish I hadn't sold all my old Squidders. I'll probably be renting, unless lighter gear might be in order, what depth to you think they will have us fishing? Is that 25oz pipe really required to hold out there, man that seems heavy. I'll bet you don't use them as gitzit insert weights for winter smallies . Speaking of which, what's up with the cape smallie bite....send me an email.

again when you rent there rods reels they use mono they supply the gear hook and weight if you loose it they put a new one on but if you want to jig you give a deposit if you dont lose it you get your deposit back. i always bring my own jigs even if i rent there rods.

Beleive me you will need at least 20 ozs. out there. Most likely we will be fishing in 200 feet and more up to 350. The area Andylynn fishes is EAST of Stelly unless its real windy then he may stay inshore. GS I'll get me feelers out but I don't think the smallies are stacked in the deep water yet. I've gone the last two weekends and hit greenies still shallow with water temps. around 50.
