Slip, that is definately what it's all about. You are probably as proud of your son as your son is of the fish in that picture.

Actually Arby he is a friend of my son. I am proud of this kids enthusiasm. And is he obsessed with fishing already at age 10. His mom dropped him off at my house at 4 am . I cast out and set the hook for him as he was having a hard time casting out far enough. He usually chunks bait but I wanted to show him jigging. He reeled the smaller one in and we released it after the pic. I had to reel the bigger one in that we kept.it almost pulled him in and he couldn't even crank the reel.

Next year my son will do more fishing with me I hope.

Excellent. Nice job of encouraging him. Wait till his mom finds out she will have to work 2 jobs to finance evry rod for each type of fishing. HEHEHE

Slip thats a really great thing to do. I know some of us (myself included) get so wrapped up in the whole thing that we don't share what we have for fear that we may miss something ourselves.

BTW, Please tell me that wasn't this morning!!!!

lol
well Dave, ya know it could have been with the weather we've been having.
No , it was earlier this year, I think Sept. or so. He is a friend of my sons and he has no father around. His mom takes him fishing alot, he tries really hard and reads about it and doesn't get discouraged by not catching anything. The kid really gets it.

Thanks guys.

No canalratt, I was fishing to the right of Walters' rock. He was on it too, I was the only one hooking up since I was reaching the middle.

Smile Update on Mike

I just wanted you guys to know that Mike was getting emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix when I first posted this thread that day. Well he recovered fine and his mom showed him the thread when he came home the next week, and he said to her"now I'm famous".

Well, actually he was over my house the day of the plug party and if I had known, I would have brought him out to introduce him to all the other striper nuts that were there. He's a good kid and I will make a lure for him so my son can give it to him for Christmas.
