Question Penn drag washers need replacin'

Afternoon Everyone,
This past weekend we scored big while chumming and chunking in the harbor. We caught and released over 40 keepers in a five hour period . The biggest was 40 inches(about 25 lbs), they averaged between 30 and 33 inches.
I use Penn 4400SS and 4500SS spinners on 7 ft Fenwick rods. By the end of the day the drags were starting to bind a little and they sounded pretty bad. I think they need replacing.
Has anyone used the "Smoothie" replacement drag washers? Should I replace them with the original equipment (HT100)? Any opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks, and tight lines!
