OK,I'll try to be more specific.
At the end of you running line you could use a snap swivel and attach a made up leader to it consisting of a barrel swivey then a length of leader mono or flourocarbon and then to a snap for quick changes.
As far as changing over from bait to plugs quickly, I don't know about that since I am not sure how you are rigging for bait. If you are using a sliding fishfinder rig then no it won't be easy to switch off to plugs.
I'm just using a 2oz weight, and then about 1foot to 2ft down from that I have the clear 12in leader with hook at the end. I have a black metal leader it ties onto the first part of my line, and then has a clip on the other end. Is this what you mean as a clip on? Can I just connect hooked leaders there, and then the jigs too? Or will the black metal mess my chances up?
tie a barrel swivel to your line. tie 50lb mono leader to barrel swivel. tie snap to 50lb leader.put a 3oz white bucktail jig with white pork rind on the snap.cast into moving water(jetty where river dumps ito the ocean).try to keep it simple Whats up with those biting flies at Plum Island?

We call those flies GREEN HEADS!!!!!
They hurt when they bite you! They come
out a few different times during the season.
I know they like silver colored cars. LOL
