Wow a canal special with the hooks on the wrong side. How does that puppy swim?? It must dive deep once it digs.

Cedar Darta weighs 2-1/2 oz. dives deep and wobbles, but doesn't flip. I think its a keeper. Also making some heavier ones now out of some hard old yellow pine and a few Basswood Surfsters that were sealed today. Will start paining when I get back from vacation in about a week.

Not quite 100 mph, but I do like to paint wet on wet, mix rattlecan colors right on the plug. Sometimes get disapointed and have to redo.
Epoxied 2 Darters today.

Talking

When I get back from vacation, I'll put trebles and dressed siwash's on these guys, and then get started on my next project. I have about 80 new blanks sealed and hanging to dry for a week. New stuff for me, pikies, surfsters, atom 40's, dartas, etc.
Mostly inspired by you guys, I'm pretty sure they'll look good and I am hoping at least some of them will swim properly.

your much better than when I started,, If your fairly new to plugbuilding ,I really can't tell,,Try not to make large batches of plugs . say a pikie.. make 1 or 2 ... take it down swim it .. bring it back tweak it .. hows the roll , hows the swim .tweak ,, You might not like the lip your using ,,overpowering,,,not enough ? How's your weighting for the size your building.. hows it sit in the water when its at rest ? I tried orig CCB weighting around the wire instead of chin .. big mistake .. roll like beotch .. sits higher in salt that kind of weighting no good for the plug i was building .. Most of us learned from the real masters..CCB,Bob Pond Atoms Lures,,Bob Hahn,Stan Gibbs, list goes on and on ..Try to mimic these guys .. get an old beater of there's ,, study . your doing good .. This method will save you money too ..
