Vinyl to CD
Anyone doing vinyl to CD's. I know they do it. I have so many LP's that I hate to go and buy them on CD, especially since file sharing is taboo. I'd love to know how to do it without the usual aggravation accompanied with anything involving a computer that I seem to encounter when I get involved in things like this. Paul

Hey Professor, I asked this a couple years ago but never did figure it out. I think it has gotten easier now, I'm all ears.

I imagine a good quality linear turntable jacked to a good receiver jacked to the input jack of a good sound card in a PC - then rip to whatever suits your fancy...
Or buy the CDs used on Ebay

However, the player to pc is okay you need an amp and a filter to get the damn dust out.

About 10 years ago someone gave me a stack of about 50 records, all reggae and blues. Some good stuff I 'd like to listen to but dont want to spend on CD's. So I'll go out and spend a couple hundred on a new turntable and jacks and I can listen to the classic scratchy chit

so......?
if you had say, one favorite vinyl record
that you wanted to transfer to a CD
there's no service orientated company
out there that will do this for a price....?
i've been wondering this for a long time.

I saw a machine advertised that does just that, record records to CDs. As I recall it was about $300. It had a retro look to it. I think Linens and Things carries(d) it. I have no idea how good it is.
