				Sinus Surgery !!!

Holy crap !!!! What the hell did I do?

Although I've been suffering for many years with sinus infections and cronic conjestion, the doctor never told me how miserable this would be. I had it done wednesday, and yesterday I went to the office completely clogged, he put a tube up there and i thought he was going to suck my brains out through my nose !!! MAN did that hurt.

Here is is Saturday and i'm still miserable, feels like a cold from hell.
Pain, swelling, blood and I can't taste my food, I have little or no appetite, can't breath or sleep cause I have to breath through my mouth, I wake up every few hours feeling like I've been eating dirt. My heads pounding and it hurts behind my eyes.

OTHER THAN THAT,,, ITS @$#$)(*@#$*#$ GREAT !!!!

I hope this ends up for the better.

Thanks for reassuring me. I was contemplating having a deviated septum fixed last year until my bro in law had it done last year. 2 weeks of hell he told me. I'm not sure i will ever go thru with it. He is glad he did it but not for the 2 weeks after. Hope you feel better. P.

She has an awful history with her sinus' I see it first hand so I feel for you. What did your doctor do scrape them. One of the guys I work with had that done and he said it didn't help one bit.

the doctor me it would not work for me though, the dentist has a device it is called a sleep guard that fits on your teeth and brings your jaw forward

He trimmed the swollen sinus tissue along the sides that block the airway, and removed polups (SP?). I also had a deviated septum so he "fixed" that too. Complete overhaul !!!

Still in agony, and I gotta get back to work tomorrow.

Don't be afraid to call the Doc and discuss your pain. He may have tips to alleviate it some or at least offer encouragement. If not, you need a new Doc. My 2cents..

I have the Septoplasty and 3 years later I had the Cryo-Turbanectomy. which is similiar to what you had done. Yes it sucks for about 2 weeks but it is worth every moment of the displeasure.

I had the septoplasty done last year. Everyone told me I was crazy, that I would be miserable for weeks. The worst of it was the first night with the packing in. The next day the packing was removed, I slept on a recliner, it helped me breath better so I could sleep, and I was fine in a bout a week. The pain wasn't bad after about three days I stopped taking the pain meds. I still snore, but I am deffinately sleeping better, and having dreams almost every night, which I han't had in about 10 years.

The deviated septum will take a solid year to heal. It will sound like "crinkling celophane" every time you sneeze.

I had constant sinus problems along with sleep apnea 3 1/2 years ago. They fixed my deviated septum, removed my tonsils, cut my palette and shocked the back of my tounge. It sucked for about 2 weeks, but the pain meds (liquid percs) helped a lot. When it was healing up the stitches started to get feel "scratchy" but they eventually disappeared. It's nice to be able to breathe again.

I'll be having this done shortly. Wondering if anyone who has gone through these procedures was/is a diver. And if so did you notice any difference in equalizing the pressure in the inner ear. Thanks.

Once after a bad broken nose in college (Hockey) I leave the ER with a packed nose and stitches. The last thing the Doctor said to me was "Whatever you do, don't pull the gauze out". Five hours later sitting back in the ER with about 10 feet of blood soaked gauze hanging out of my nose and piled up on my lap, the Doctor comes out and says "thank you". I said "what for"? He laughed and said "I bet the nurse you'd be back like this within six hours". I didn't see the humor.

I did not get the gauze pushed up into there like they used to do. He said they just let it heal on its own. I have not splept through the night in two weeks because breathing through my mouth keeps waking me up. But yesterday was different. (your gonna love this).

Went to the office and he sprayed some numby stuff into my nose, then he gets his metal suction tube thing and starts pushing up in there until it feels like he touching my brain. THEN ,,,,he starts scraping with the end of it while its s#^^^^^&g goo out !!! HOLY SHEET I thought I was going to lose it....that absolutely sucked (literally). He did both sides and then says your coming along nicely come back in 2weeks and we will do this again. I could not even stand up for a few minutes. Great thanks doc !!!!

Only good thing was I coud breath yesterday and slept through the night. Today its stuffed up a bit, but not as bad. Can't wait to go back !!!!!!!!!!!

This better be worth this pain. I'm telling you this so when you have it done, you might be better prepared than I was.

~..~..~.. ><((((º>
Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.
