The Canal

For anyone that fishes the canal, what would you guys normally use for plugs, jigs, tins, etc for early spring (Late April- Early May) when fishing the canal? This is my first spring hitting up the canal and I had gone to the MSBA and bought some gear and hopefully I'll go to the RI show as well. I just wanted to get an idea and keep my eyes peeled for some lures to purchase.

3 ounce or so pencils, darters, pikies or similar swimmers work at times

those big rubber shad things

4 ounce bucktail jigs and pork rind

crippled herring

pt jude tins, get them all and try those new blue ones

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

I actually bought a ton of the wobble heads but I was thinking of buying those blue tins as well. I had bought 2 3.0 and 3.5 ounce needlefish pencils at the show from the Rhode Island vendor as well.

9" Storm or Tsunami shads.

And a lot of prayers during late April

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.

The canal monster LOVES those big shads. I lost my share last season. You cannot let them free at all.
