We need two lap tops for the twins, was a bribe for honor role grades, and they need them for next trimester... Saw the BestBuy add for Toshiba laptops with printer for 259.00. Only ten per store. Early Bird sale. Store opens at 0500, but they will hand out tickets to those in line at 0300. So I figured (wrongly) that we would have a shot at being close to the front of the line if we arrive at 0200. We pull into parking lot at 0210 and saw a line of at least 250 people camped out, wrapped around the adjoining stores for a quarter mile... Amazing. Looked like a refugee camp in the shadows. Needless to say, we didn't even think about getting in line.

I hope BrianS did better, as I know he is younger and was heading to his local BestBuy at 2300 last night. Even in my younger days, I would not have camped out like they were, not even for playoff tickets. But then again, only the Celts had playoff opportunities...

I can now finish off the thermos of coffee and go back to bed. Guess it'll be online shopping with 3-4 easy pays...

I wish I had a camera for the DROVES that showed up at 2am in Taunton.

We got there at 10:30
50 people in front of me.

I got the LAST desktop.. 2 laptops left by the time the tickets got to me...and they were taken by the people behind me..... and there were another 1000 people behind them....

It was total insanity.

Then we went to Walmart.. and just when I thought I knew what insanity was, I learned the truth.

I heard them mention on the news that either this Monday or next Monday was "Cyber-Monday" when online stores have their specials.
You could try that route, but depending on the stores track record, I'd be cautious.

i can't believe 250 + people find it appealing to sit outside a store for the good portion of a day.

as clammer has said. you time is worth something and if im giving myself 50 bucks an hour to live.... then it aint worth the wait
