The part I cut out will now become a door with the original windows installed, that will hinge in and up against the roof.
I'm waiting on a stock order of stainless angle, channel, and flat bar that will trim both the house and door, stiffen both up, and provide a stop and weather seal.
LOTS of lobster and commercial downeast boats are set up this way, though this will be trimmed out quite fancy compared to the average lobster or commercial boat.

That's going to be really nice during cod season -- everyone else can frreze their butt off in the cockpit, while the Cpt can sit in the nice warm house and still jig.
Looks good.

Looks Great Ronnie,

Has that boat seen a 20oz jig off the side yet? Looks mint.....

I wish they could move the main support for the hardtop on the stbd side inboard 2.5' or so, then you could open the entire side so capt can fish and after hooking up does not have to hand rod outside anything.

man you love to cut things up. I bet it'll look sweet. Are you going to do the other side so FF can jig inside too?

Was that the maiden voyage? How does it run?

boatless................can I have a ride?

Nice Modification

Almost seems like you might have seen my old 30 ft boat "RainBow Chaser" when I ran it in Gloucester. I sold it to a guy down in West Dennis and I think he is still running it.

I had built a hard top and a buddy of mine welded up some alum ledder struts to hold it upfor & aft. It took me all winter to build that silly top but it worked great. Took 7 guys to lift it up with the boat in my yard.

I had a canvas guy make drop curtains out of Black Sunbrella for the sides that rolled up so I could jig from the helm seat. Kept the customers out back.

Yo did a very nice job of cutting the hole, What did you glass in the edges with when you finished? Is your cabin cored or solid?

What brand of boat is that?

Funny you talk about scratches. I just got off the phone with a guy who bought a Brand new BHM 29 and he was asking me to Capt his boat as a charterboat. He actually make the comment that he was afraid of getting any scrathes on the boat and wanted me to garennteee it would remain unblemished.

Silly Boy. Maybe his boat should remain in his yard until he sells it.

They're set up with the WHOLE side flipping up and the back being a half split slider.
Completely opens up the Starboard side to slide pots aft from the hauler.
