The original maker of the guides is American Tackle.
we have used them for a year now and no complaints.
they come in 4 color frames with the Blue ring.

http://www.americantackle.us/docs/newprod.htm

don't go by the prices they are out of line.
with Fuji's law sute still pending on copy right of the frames you may see some changes this year to all import guides

mike - are they strong enough to use on a heavy boat rod? i am building on a Lami BT857S, and planned on customizing a jigmaster with accurate parts in a color to compliment the guides/wraps.

They look nice but IMO for the small amount of money saved , go fuji unless you just got to have the colors.

For a heavy boat rod go with the boat guides but define heavy? Medium rod is fine with the BNHL guides...

Most standard boat rods will run either type of the BLRLG,BULG or BHNLG. The guides can stiffen the blank and change the action.
Choose the one that best fits the blank's action this could result in more but lighter guides . If a stiffer blank you could go with fewer and heavier type.
