Why? I've seen a few boats over the last few years remove the tower. Less top heavy for a better ride. (more GM)

Or is the pulpit going on next for the electric harpoon.......

Top heavy not a problem with my BHM
Some guys removed to gain speed. (one boat we both know went from 12kt to 14 )

Looks cool. I've been kicking around doing that too, but I don't think it's ever going to happen. As much as I miss the tower, I think I'm better off down below paying attention to the sounder and the spread rather than running around chasing stuff on top.

That and one of these days I'm gonna man-up and buy the E-Z from Bill and have my own rig.

On a serious note do you really think the benefit will outweigh the time and cost of installing? I haven't had the opertunity to see tuna from a tower. I think your boat looks perfect as is and would keep it simple.

Jon,
It's gonna be very similar to this boat (owned by Steve Law, the builder of my boat)
Not sure of the height yet, and it's gonna be quickly removeable.
And yes the benefits are there, I stand up there looking 1/2 the time as it is, especially looking for bait.
As for the cost $, I bought one to modify/cut down for the right $ and I'm the fabricator !

Making fast progress !
All trimmed and all unnecessary weight removed.
Got to tig up all the holes from old antenna mounts, out rigger mounts,ect...
Gonna tig new mounts for out riggers & center rigger, modify rocket launcher and a few other mounts.
Gonna bring it down to the boat for a dry fit.
Then getting sand blasted and either white powder coated or painted.

I work fast !
about 2 weeks.
Trying to locate helm and controls.
Will have a 2nd set of electronics up there also.
Was up there today sitting on my raft (like I usually do) while dragging bars, when done I'll be standing/driving from 4 ft up off my roof height.
Big advantage being up there !!!

Looks great. If I could ask, how are you planning on attaching it to the boat to make it removable?

Your're a machine!

Looks good. Anyone who has spent time offshore knows the value of a tower...it will pay off big.

You need to put a big "Royal Throne " up there so you can get out of the cocpit mayhem and shout commands to your subjects below!

Best trolling boat around these parts for years is/was the Cookie Too. Tower went to the sky. they caught when others never new fish were here. And yes they help. Big time!

All mounted. ect....
Me & Leo spent the day @ the slip in Green Harbor mounting, drilling, sealing ect.... Also moved the 8 person life raft down to the front of the bow.
Still gotta run/rig the steering hoses & throttle/shift cables.
Gotta run wires for the electronics, chartplotter & sounder, 4 spreader lights, vhf , and few other electrical things. All that stuff will be completed by the end of next week.
Going to also have the wrap around back rest & seat cushions re done.
Gonna wait till the season is over to sand blast & paint white. It looks pretty good the way it is, the time to fish is now !

I got 10 rod holders in the gunwales (5 are long swivels), out riggers and a center rigger. (may do the upper set of outriggers also as I have them)
The 13 rocket launcher holders are for storing rods, gaffs, nets ect...
