Wader suspenders
For Christmas, my mom bought me a pair of waders. They aren't the most expensive pair out there but they fit really well. Good arch support for my type of foot. There's one problem... My mom didn't realize you need a pair of suspenders to hold them up. Can't blame a non-fisherman for trying. Anyways, I've never heard of this brand, will any suspenders with the loops on the bottom work? It doesn't have belt loops for a surf belt, so could I just wear a wading belt around my waist? I really love the waders and since the water I fish isn't all too rough, they should last a decent while.
Thanks,

Hi Patrick,
As for suspenders you might want to try looking at like Sports Authority, or MVP sports, Eastern Mountain Sports, they all carry some type of suspenders. As for a wading belt, that should work just fine and you should definatley wear one. It isn't always about having one on in rough water, but you may take a fall and the belt can help keep the water out of your waders, in a strong current without a belt things can get a little hairy some times. Hope this helps!!!!

Patrick,
If you go to section of the sporting goods store that has ice hockey equipment, you can use the suspenders that are used to hold hockey pants up. They are made to withstand the rigors of salty sweat, so they hold up very well. I'd also wear a belt. If you fall in the water in an area with current, they will keep your waders from billowing open and acting like a sail.

If the waders are not neoprene , you might want to look for the suspenders that will inflate in an emergency. Since you have to buy some suspenders anyway , I think getting the safety item that performs the same function is a good idea.

GET A BELT !!!! Try any sporting goods store in FF and you should be able to find a pair of suspenders and a belt fairly cheap . An inflatable is a good idea also .
