Not so Bad DAY...

Hey guys, I went on the fluke trip with a buddy of mine. We spent most of time hunting for flukes on the New Seabury to Waquoit wiyh most time spent at Succonnessit. I caught like seven flukes, but all of them are undersized and got gutted with hooks every time I throw in. I used one of the fisherman's issue on fluke's article on rigging for large. i used a whole body squid and a gaskamatu octopus hook 7/0 on the circle hook and it worked like hell! And I caught a 18 inches flat keepah! It weight about 2 or 3 lbs. I also caught scups, just three of them. I got the picture. I also caught other species.
We got plenty of little guys and only one keeper, But we did great on getting variety.
Final tally.
Striper
Fluke
sea robins
sculp
sandshark
bluefish
and crab
I even almost nabbed a keeper fluke on the fluke bullet w/ a fly on the teaser rig I made by using Frank Daiagurnat's.

My question is now, which circle hook do you recommend for catching flukes? The little guys even swallowed whole. The wide gap kahal hooks aren't working on their mouth.

I used t he filleting technique and it's great!

What size of wide gap kahal? I used a 1/0 and it got gutted. I hate hurting those poor guys and rigging up on the boat and feel naseous.

went looking for some fluke at duxbury from the shore and the bridge with some soft plastic yesterday but only got stripers, o well.
try the gammakatsu octopus in a 4 or 5 again.just set the hook quicker, we all have days where it seems you foul hook every stinkin fish.

Hey Notaro,
I added that pic on another thread to test the picture, I have a few other shots on the classifieds and wanted to add this one for another agle. When I tried it said that the picture is being used here and I can't re-post it. do you know how to cut and paste it, if so, can you add it to my classified under snowmobile for sale.
