Fishing Reports anyone?
Hello -
You guys are a little quiet these days, must be out fishing all of the time.
Wondering how everyone is making out in Ri and Southern Mass on the kayaks?
Will be headed over to Narrow River, Dutch, and out to 3'rd beach area in Newport in another week.
Connecticut has been slow, sometimes a fish or two through the boulder fields. Ct. river coves are muddy and nothing there.
Let me know how the fishing has been going.
Would love to hear a couple of good fishing stories.
Dan B.

I know you said Mass and RI but here in NY the wind just hasn't backed off enough to be safe for a long time. It's starting to calm down but I've been hitting the lakes instead.
Dying to get some fluke in my lap.

Fishing was slow yesterday in one of the RI Ponds.. Was able to pull a harbor blue out.
But otherwise saw some sand eels and lots of bird activity on the south county shore around east beach.
Too much weed in the water from the SE wind to even try from shore

Last two trips have been out of Gooseberry Point in Westport and out to Hens & Chicken's ledge for a mix bag of black sea bass, tog and stripers; but the swells have made it a challenge to get too close.

Got out yesterday off Swampscott. Pretty good place to yak and fish; caught about 4 or 5 schoolies on a T & W, no luck with mack chunks or plugs. Some swells and chop made it a little tricky; would be careful in a one man yak, but saw some folks out doing it (some were fly fishing off the tip of an island off Swampscott, and caught some). Beautiful scenery, great day OTW.
