Ballast Point Sea Monster Imperial Stout
A very substantial oatmeal stout that lives up to its sea monster moniker. I concur with Kevin ... Ballast Point makes some great brews

They're really pushing it this year. I'm liking the Sierra Nevada Narwhal right now.

Funny you mention the Narwhal in this thread....Oddly I was going to pick up a Sea monster to try but when I saw that they had the Black Marlin for half the price of the Sea monster I opted for the Black Marlin instead because I had not tried that one yet either, very good. Since I felt like I had "saved" money I then went and slurged on the Narwhal which I tried last year and loved so I had to go with a little known and unknown.

It's good. For imperial stouts I have a hard time finding ones that compete with alesmith speedway and great divide yeti but this one holds up well. If you like the marlin, look out for victory at sea - a huge Baltic porter.

Xocoveza made this "best of" list along with a few other local (New England) brews.

Kevin, I'll keep an eye out for that stone. I had the stone master of disguise (blond stout) and wasn't a fan, kind of gimmicky.
