Boston Hires Goats

The city of Boston has hired goats from Goatscaping Company for $11,000 to graze on city-owned property. Apparently, a team of four goats can eat up to 1/3 acre of weeds including poison ivy, Japanese knotweed, and other invasive plants. The goats seems have a busy summer schedule.

Most major airports use goats to eat the vegetation.

I was waiting for some "scape-goat" punch line....

I wonder.. when it's time to retire them, who gets to eat them?

That's going to be one hell of an expensive mutton dinner.
To think that we taxpayers won't even get a taste of the city's fat-cat BBQ when this happens?
Only fitting since we only paid for the whole thing.

Seems like we go through periods of hyper-growth when the conditions just happen to be right for what appears to be accelerated growth.

As for reports of the poison ivy being more toxic, it may just be a case of forgetting how bad your last case was, or not having been exposed for awhile and your body reverts back to a basic level of tolerance of this plant.

I relate it to how people complain about the weather, and forget about the last few years of storms and winters we've had.

I know, I'll chock it up to people becoming "de-sensitized" by overt internet usage. They spend so much time indoors and "hooked up" to their electronics, they completely forget what the outside world is really like!
