service to our country

should be recognized, not ostracized

but Mass.

Spence is this because of Liberalism or conservativism?

I'm sure the backlash will reverse this mentality in this case anyway but where are we going in education with these kinds of decisions?

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

I don't think it has to do with either. The school's response makes perfect sense to me. It's a graduation ceremony not a send off.

I am always impressed when I see this at graduation. I wonder what changed where they decided to forbid this honor.

That makes no sense, Jeff. Of course it is a send off... Maybe there should no awards such as a Dartmouth Cup, or ANY other mention of scholarships to any institution which the seniors are being sent off to.... I would call their recruitment office. I am sure they could provide an audience in uniform to recognize these students' choice to serve. Better yet, boycott the damn ceremony..... School administration is wrong in my opinion.

Not surprised to see Jeff approve of this example of disrespect. The downward spiral continues.

I’ve never seen a school graduation where a sash not related to the graduation was worn over the robe. Have you?

Most graduations I have seen, people were emphasized on where they were going; college, trade school, and with the military in particular.

Be a shame that someone going to do four or more years in the military will be prohibited from displaying that sash. Gosh I hope the PoliSci major doesn't put a Starbucks logo on their cap - for equality ya know.

I think the recruiters who were responsible for their enlistment should send each of them the appropriate uniform so they can wear it at the ceremony.

Not sure it has anything to do with political correctness and it's in no way anti-service or anti-military.

Students that have achieved academic honors are given sashes or other items to bear during the formal ceremony to recognize their past efforts. Seems like it's a pretty common practice.

this is just another story promoting a false narrative the right loves to present as the left some how hating America .. I saw it at my sons high school graduation 5 years ago . it became fashionable after 9\11 as a recruitment tool .. no such thing was around when I enlisted in the Marines . I have no issues if its allowed or not allowed its just another persons choice or a schools policy ... people join for more reasons than love for their county ... and if you buy into the narrative That I or many others were in Iraq or Afghanistan to defend freedom ...your drinking the cool aid.. we are there to carry out US policy just like in Vietnam ..

I know this is a subject you are unfamiliar with Jeff, perhaps that is why you are confused. I would listen if you wanted to describe why you don't consider this anti service. To me it is simply a chance to feel good about themselves and perhaps garner an atta boy. Similar to their peers whom you might consider; more deserving?
