9' one piece build

Looking to build a 9', most likely 1 piece surf rod to pair with a VS150 this winter. Something to throw around 1 - 3 ounces. Current rod that I built in 2007 has seen better days. Any recommendations on blanks? Typically like stuff on the lighter side, smallish butt diameter and such. Thanks

Gsb1081L. 3 oz too much but will do mag darters to ss darters.
Gsb 1081M will handle 3 oz but too stiff for light stuff. Lots of power though.

I need to replace my Rainshadow 1088.... Let me know if you want to do a run down to CMS to look at/pick up a blank.

My original 1088 was out of Capesams personal stash. Best all around 9' I ever had. Backcast caught lure on a lobster trap/trash ball down on the reef last year and destroyed it... Pilot error.

Another versatile blank is a 1087. Fiberstar was a great blank if u can find old inventory.
I loved the Allstar 1087. Should of never got rid of it.
ODM 3/4-4OZ.

Yup, Allstar 1087. I have a conventional wrapped AS 1087 that I plan on re-wrapping to put my VS 150 on . Lighter gear for the smaller plugs i'm now building. Just have to push responsible C&R....

I needed to bump this up for any current recommendations as I have not done anything yet.
Anyone been to CMS lately? Just wondering if anyone has inventory? Still leaning to the 1088 Rainshadow, unless there is a clear cut better all arounder out there

Ross 1 pc blanks seem to be difficult to find in my area. I spoke with Lami and its shipping and orders. Distributors orders have limited inventory because my supplier told me when I bought a few blanks that was it until the next stock. They don't order readily because they wait for large orders to minimize shipping costs.
I have a few Lamis in stock including a 9L, 9m, 10L and 10m-os.

Finally found someone who had two new old stock Rainshadow SW1088-TB blanks. And he also was the guy who drove up from Long Island for my plug making lot! Eastern Rodworks Matt Hetterich. I am having one built so there should be another one available.....
