Thoughts and Prayers
President Trump said today that "Katie" is VP staffer who tested positive. Katie Miller is VP spokesperson and wife of WH adviser Stephen Miller.
Between Trump’s valet and Katie Miller, it’s safe to say that a significant portion of the West Wing has probably been exposed to coronavirus.
Many people think that Fauci and Birx may be conducting a herd immunity experiment.

COVID-19 is all over the White House.
1⃣ Trump*s Personal Valet
2⃣ Pence's Press Secretary
3⃣ Ivanka Trump's Personal Assistant
4⃣ 34 Secret Service Agents
The White House has the best safety precautions on Earth. So why does anyone think Trump* can keep US safe?

My 100 year old Mother-in Law tested positive for Covid-19 over a week ago....has no symptoms and has not been told....my wife asked her how she was feeling .....says she feels pretty good.
She is as tough and resilient as anyone I have ever known.
If I was a gambler...and i'm not.... my bet would be she survives this too.

My mom did 5 stints in the ICU over 6 years before she died. Each time they said she was likely not coming home. Some people are just built to survive.

I wonder what it's like to be a germaphobe like Trump*, sitting in the White House, knowing the virus has already breached whatever protective measures he put in place and could be lurking inside any one of the very few people he trusts.

I can only think that if Trump did get sick he’d still be on TV with no mask proclaiming he was fine and feeling the best he ever has...with a doctor’s note to prove it.

Right a true leader, actually he is a true joke. As the death toll is about to eclipse 80,000, does Trump tweet T&P’s for so many suffering, no he tweets he is happy to announce the opening of his Los Angeles golf course. Doing what he ran for, helping his brand and getting back into the reality TV game, he really is so apparent and pathetic.

Does anyone think the president can keep us safe from a virus? If I go out in public without a mask, or if I work in a nursing home...is it the president's fault if I get sick?

No sh*t #^^^^& Tracy, guess why that number is so high in the first place, but be comforted; our fearless leader loves big numbers and the infected and death numbers are more than many wars put together. He should be proud to go down in history as the only president who can be impeached, have the highest death toll, have the most unemployed and the worse economy in history as he leaves office.
Hugh infected numbers, unbelievable death numbers, which is why the number recovered is growing along with them, but hey thanks for pointing that out Captain Obvious.

COVID arrived in the US on January 13. Wednesday is May 13.
That’s four months. Four months to figure things out, to communicate a plan, & to get testing & tracing in place. Instead, it seems we’re just opening up because of politics. Trump* the leader completely failed this test.
No, it would not be perfect. Just like any war there would need to be adjustments to the plan and targets would change.
But far better than baloney, miracles and magic drug gaslighting.
Just the minimal effort to demonstrate CDC recommendations at his task force propaganda meetings and the WH would have made a significant difference in infections and spread.

His administration he owns those big numbers, it doesn’t matter if he could have kept them down by earlier hard line intervention, the handling from the get go has resulted in bigger numbers.
What no comment on Trumps cold tweet selling golfers to get on over to his families golf course. The clown is only interested in brand name, what is good for him, surrounding himself with boot licking lackeys and showing anyone who has the nerve to stand up to him the revolving White House door.

You want to say our testing has been a flop, I agree.
But once it's "here", I'm not sure what the president can reasonably do, to stop it and keep unemployment from surging. I guess Obama would have gone out, barechested with bullets strapped across his chest and a cigar in his mouth, and beat the virus back singe-handedly.
Trump was wrong for trying to curtail it with a travel ban, That was unnecessary because the virus wasn't that serious. Now, it's awful and he didn't do enough.
That's a textbook case of trying to have it both ways.

The numbers are nowhere near what we were told to expect. Does he own that too?
Does he own the nursing home deaths in NY state that are a direct result of Cuomo's idiotic policy that nursing homes can't refuse to admit people who are sick? That was Trump's fault, not Cuomo's?
You didn't give him credit for the economy, but you fault him for this. Again, a textbook case of wanting to have it both ways. Every positive result, someone else gets the credit. Everything bad, is his fault.

Trump recognizes that his administration owns the economy and won't get re-elected unless it gets going and recently has shifted from talking about the virus to trying to get the economy started even as states and businesses are looking for help on how to do so safely. He has left the states on their own.
It has been almost 2 weeks since Fauci and Birx have spoken at the briefings, He has refused requests from Congress to talk to key individuals.
He spent most of yesterday tweeting. I guess there was nothing else he needed to do.

Show me where I ever said a travel ban was bad, it is simply typical Trump* gaslighting. I've always said what he did was misdirected effort, not enough and just typical Trump* baloney based on his "gut" or "points to head".
He has set himself and us up perfectly to fail by ignoring the experts, not pushing for the funding and not enabling the staff and mechanisms that were in place to excel.
The nation that produced 8 fighters an hour in WW2, couldn't produce tests, swabs or masks to meet the need.
Yes, it is this administrations fault.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Jan. 21 announced the first travel-related case of novel coronavirus in the United States. Trump* made his administration's restrictions effective Feb. 2. (On Jan. 17, the CDC had begun health screenings of passengers on direct or connecting flights from Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the outbreak.)
Trump* barred non-U.S. citizens from traveling from China, but there were 11 exceptions, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan were not included. U.S. citizens and permanent residents could still travel from China but were subject to screening and possible 14-day quarantine. Some flights were immediately suspended, but others continued for weeks, at the discretion of the airlines.
“All of the evidence we have indicates that travel restrictions and quarantines directed at individual countries are unlikely to keep the virus out of our borders,” said Jennifer Nuzzo, from Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Health Security, at a congressional hearing Feb. 5. She was not alone in saying this.
Screening and testing did not function and social distancing that has never been taken seriously by the WH was too little too late, so we are now at 1.4 million infected and 80 thousand dead.
It's far from over.

I never said, that you claimed the travel ban was bad. I said the media, and many prominent democrats, said it was unnecessary because the virus wasn't that dangerous.
Now they are shifting the goalposts.
Because what matters isn't the truth, what matters is orangemanbad.
