Sometimes you make my head hurt, Paul......
Speaking of odds...What are the odds that articles of impeachment are filed here? I think they go up given the report that Trump rebuffed calling in the National Guard for hours, despite pleas from his inner circle.

I think that Republican leadership has gone to Trump and told him they want his resignation, he said #^&#^&#^&#^& you.
Now they’re considering the legal options that will remove him while doing as little collateral damage as possible, because it’s about power not what’s good for the country

25th Amendment section 4..... Yep That Constitution is a pretty well done document.
Be it removal, censure, or impeachment, I think Congress could possibly unite, as would the Republican Party, to act now, and by holding Trump accountable and making sure he cannot reappear in a future election. His hours long rebuff of calling for the National Guard may be the final straw.
I wish this all hadn't taken place. I would rather suffer the ridicule from any and all for naming a thread January 6, 2021, and having none of it come to bear.
If nothing else, maybe these next days end up being the beginning of our Congress, working together, being able to govern for the people, for the people.

It is, but especially these days it is important to recognize that the constitution existed for 179 years before the 25th amendment. Thank you Thomas Jefferson for your wisdom.
“I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitutions, but laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.”

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

don't give yourself too much credit...your batting average wasn't very good
So many devastating possibilities aligning...
The President demanding the VP to defy the Constitution so he can stay in power.
Pence didn't defy the Constitution
Many Republican members of Congress rallying around this otherwise lame duck President, who would be otherwise be leaving office in two weeks, to impede the succession of power. he'll be leaving in two weeks... succession of power not impeded
Trump supporters rallying around the Capitol, some expected to be armed. yup... there was a rally
Trump giving a speech in the morning and possibly joining his supporters. he gave a speech
The leader of the Proud Boys arrested on weapons charges in DC and told to "stay away." not sure if this is a prediction or just stating fact again
A threat over the air controller frequency said a plane was going to be flown into the Capitol tomorrow, likely while the Congress is assembled to read the votes from the electoral college.
This to avenge the killing of Iranian General Soleimani exactly a year ago. didn't see any planes in all the footage
Kenosha Wisconsin likely to see rioting after no charges were brought against a police officer in a shooting last August.
if there were riots there, they didn't make the news.....there were riots in Portland though...shocker...
And there is always the Georgia Senate elections today, with results possibly not being known until tomorrow. they are known
Only the control of the Senate and a continuation of a checks and balance within Congress at stake. Any powder kegs I left out?
Oh, maybe a stack of pardons to round out the afternoon? did he pardon anyone?
I think that makes you 2 for 8 ...I didn't count the poor boys

differing reports....somewhere between 13 and 53...26 in the Capitol building..you'd think it would have been much higher given the level of panic from the media types....
how many people were there would you estimate?
just for comparison....
P olice injured, more than 200 arrested at Trump inauguration protests in DC
By Gregory Krieg, CNN

glad there was none of this...

Pipe bombs and Molotov cocktails
Tweety has his private army now
“Big protest in D.C. on January 6th,” Mr. Trump tweeted on Dec. 19, just one of several of his tweets promoting the day. “Be there, will be wild!”

Statements from Parler
Yes, Trump I will stand by you, I will swing from the gallows for treason with you if I have to
Trump always, even if he starts killing thousands of Americans. I trust his judgement. I know they would deserve it. God made him. He can't be wrong.

President Donald Trump spent Wednesday telling people he was happy that the Republicans David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler lost their Senate races in Georgia, the New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman reported.

Parler gets photo ID from users. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if the FBI turned out to be running parler as a honeypot?
