Ronnie, You are Confused!
Ronnie,
You have beens spending too much time out in the boat and I recommend you get some sunscreen. Your facts are wrong about being winners. Oakland Raiders have been to Superbowls II, XI and XXXVI. They did beat the Vikings in Superbowl XI. My fuzzy math tells me they have been to three Superbowls and won one.
Now let's look at the Patriots Ronnie. They have been to Superbowl XX, XXXI, XXXVI and XXXVIII. They did loose the first two and won XXXVII after beating the Raiders in the snow bowl and also won against the Panthers in XXXVIII.
This means the Patriots have been to one more superbowl than the Raiders and also won one more superbowl. I guess this means that the Patriots have been Champions more often then the Raiders over your last 30 years.

I think you may have to re-examine your post. When did the Pats ever play the Raiders in the Superbowl?
The Raiders have won 3 superbowls to the Pats 2 and they have both appeared in the same amount of Superbowls - 4
But When (and I do mean When ) the Pats Win the Superbowl this Year We will have the Upperhand

Dave,
You're math as well as you're mind is a bit fuzzy!!!
The Raiders played in the 1st superbowl, losing to the Packers
They beat the Vikings
They beat the Eagles
They beat the Redskins
They lost to the Bucs (on my birthday )
My math tells me thats 3 wins 2 losses
and in that span they played in more AFC championship games (by far) than any other AFC team!
The Pats played in their 1st super bowl 1985 (on my birthday!!!)
Losing to the Bears
They lost to the Packers
They beat the Rams
They beat the Panthers
My math tells me thats 2 wins 2 losses
They also have as many losing seasons from 1960 to present as as any other joke of a team from the AFC

The 1st Superbowl was the Packers and the Chiefs, The Second Superbowl was the Packers and the Raiders.
I did forget the Last one they were in against the Bucs, Sorry about that.
The Raiders have played in 13 AFC/AFL Championships and won 5 times or 38% of the Time. The Pats have Played in 5 AFC/AFL Championships and won 4 times for an 80% clip.

OOOPPPSSSS
My post never indicated we played the Raiders in a Superbowl but, I did miscalculate the times they have appeared and won the big game. I went to a pretty crappy website. Here is the history link of Superbowl games. I admit, I was wrong, however I am a true Patriot Fan and will always stand by my team through the good times and the bad. Yes I remember Eugene Chung and those other horrible draft picks.

Here you go Ronnie,
Raider Joke
Three football fans were on their way to a game when one noticed a foot sticking out of the bushes by the side of the road. They stopped and discovered a nude female dead. Out of respect and propriety, the Seahawk's fan took off his cap and placed it over her right breast. The 49ers fan took off his cap and placed it over her left breast. Following their lead, the Raider's fan took off his cap and placed it over her crotch. The police were called and when the officer arrived, he conducted his inspection. First, he lifted up the Seahawk's cap, replaced it and wrote down some notes. Next, he lifted the 49ers cap, replaced it and wrote down some more notes. The officer then lifted the Raider's cap, replaced it, then lifted it again, replaced it, lifted it a third time, and replaced it one last time. The Raider's fan was getting upset and finally asked, "What are you, a pervert or something? Why do you keep lifting and looking, lifting and looking? "Well," said the officer. "I am simply surprised; normally when I look under a Raiders hat, I find an a-hole."

Hey Dave,
I checked out that site,
I couldn't help to notice that the pats are #4 on the list for most consecutive playoff losses from 1963 - 1982
I also noticed my team is at the top of most list like most wins, most playoff games, ect........

The Pats record stunk, the stadium stunk, most of the coaches stunk and Tony Eason really stunk. But ther were great players too, Steve Grogan and his bootleg runs, John Hannah, Stanley Morgan, Stan Cunningham, Drew Bleadsoe, Ben Coates I know I'm missing a lot more, but without living in the valley for so long the climb up to the peak never would of been so sweet, world champs 2 of last 3 years have been the greatest.
Now they go back to work!!!!!

Steve Grogan ,Sam Cunnincham, Drew Bledsoe Great players
John Hannah Was great, (but his brother Charlie has a ring from playing with the Raiders )
Stanley Morgan was Very good!
Steve Nelson was Great! (should be in the hall of fame!)
Ben coats was good!
Mike Haynes was great for the Raiders !!!
As for the Sox,
I root for them, but I know
Just like in my grand fathers and my farthers lifetime,
I will NEVER see them win !!!

Ok maybe a stretch, but there's not a Raider alive that could take as many hits as Bledsoe and Grogan

Super Bowl 15 MVP Jim Plunkett
Great draft pick by the Pats A strong armed, statue of a quarterback, who gets drafted by the Pats, and their coach wants him to run the wish bone offense and run!!!

Alot of bad coaches. In the new age of salary cap football, what the Patriots have done is remarkable, lets see what the rest of the nfl can do, and we won 15 straight games with how many injuries? Including all the games without big Ted Washington. Can't look back though, now with a legit running back we could be back to back champs.

It's a shame that only 1 every 10 years the Raiders and Pats play in the regular season!
I was at the old DUMP in foxboro back in I think 1997 for the last game.
Wana guess who won that game
Drew didn't look too good in that game!!!

And in Lifetime head to head meetings the Raiders do own the advantage 15-14-1 (not exactly Overwelming)

You're forgetting the AFL Championship losses to the Chargers back in the early 60s.

I caught a real nice 60 LB cod back in 1976, isn't that exciting something really good over 30 years ago. Lets get all excited about that. At least I can admit mu mistakes and admit who the good teams are when they are there. Games many years ago are useless. To me that is like saying we had the greatest hitter of all times, Ted Williams and look where the Sox have beent he last decade. It doesn't matter we had ted or the Babe. It is all about the new millenium and once again the PATS have won two out of the last three years. Ron, it's OK to be a fan of another team but don't beat up on the local team when they are proven and have alot of depth.

Ted Williams was a great hitter but definitely not the greatest!!!

Ted Williams lost 5 of the primest years of a players career to military service Ron.....can you take a stab at what his numbers would have been like or Red Sox history might have been like had he gotten to play those 5 seasons! I would take Williams any day over those 4 guys Ron and anyone who wouldn't does not know their baseball! Williams stats are far and away superior to those other players in power, and average and runs batted in and on base percentage!!! The Mick was a great player......but Williams was head and shoulders a better ball player than Mantle! My .02 cents!

Here are the numbers......
AB Hits Homers BA RBI
Ted Williams 7706 2654 521 .344 1839
Babe Ruth 8399 2873 714 .342 2211
Mickey Mantle 8102 2415 536 .298 1509
Lou Gehrig 8001 2721 493 .340 1995
Joe Dimaggio 6821 2214 361 .325 1537
Look at those numbers and I wonder why the hell Dimaggio is in the Hall at all! I can name a few players with much better numbers who should be in but never will be! As far as the other players number of at-bats and the homer, hit, BA, and RBI and Williams had it all over them........what say you Ron? Add to that the fact that Williams missed those five years.....don't want to hear about Mantles drinking and Dimaggio's injuries.....Mantle made a choice to drink (his problem) and Dimaggio's injuries....hey, it happens!
