........GREAT JOB!!!........I found a friend!!!!

What did you use to create that masterpiece? Most of the stuff I scribble on here is done with the mouse. S-B (JohnR)...hooked me up with a drawing tablet but I still find the mouse more accurate. It doesn't look like your using your mouse, pencils and ??....I read some where that your a graphic artist,,,,what medium do you use?

...do tell - PLEASE!!!

..it's always nice to meet another creative individual.

bloo,

that was done fully with Prisma color colored pencils and micron pens....i mostly do sketches, but i love working with illustrator and photoshop....I love creating indentities for people....

I have seen your creative work on here...my favorite one is, its either weewee or john made to be the "Plug Ho" i cracked up when i saw that

I would love to get one of those computer tablets...I heard they are really nice especially the Wacom tablet....I do all my digital work with the mouse too....all the logos that i have done are always custom drawn and then scanned and taken into illustrator then photoshop for affects.......

thanks for the compliments

Mrs Frances,,,....

Is there some sort of software that you or anyone else is aware of that could be used after scanning a picture into your PC.

Example: I draw a pencil or inked design (color-less) onto some paper. I then scan it to the PC. Then with that software, I'm able to color-scheme the design...without actually having to retrace the entire design. In other words, it would have to determine the difference in my hand drawn lines and NOT see the picture as a whole....

If that makes any sense....

i have never heard of a software like that.....i mainly work with illustrator 10 and photoshop 7 and when i am doing a logo or something i mainly do it in illustrator and then take it into photoshop if i want to put effects on the logo...if you do find out that there is a software like that let me know

you could take a sketch into photoshop and use the magic wand to select the areas you want to color, i think you can do that with a scanned image or sketch just as long as the lines are bold enough...but then sometimes it still turns out like dog poop!

what software do you use?

...SOFTWARE???......

MSpaint.....to do all the scribbling and coloring.......and then ArcSoft Photo studio just to resize and enhance the filters for clarity after resizing.

I wish I had the time to use software that would allow me to have straight lines and not the raggedy lines that I have now......someday.............maybe

thats a good one....

I thought that you had Adobe software...lol...then the software you are talking about is most likely Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator you can take a scanned image (drawing) into photoshop and color it is there alls you have to do is select the magic wand tool....there are some other things you can do too, but my brain is mush right now, due to having Strep throat its loverly having children..... they always bring home the sickies and then you get it and then they get better and you are sick as a dog

I am going to try to post something I did in Photoshop and Illustrator....Not sure if it is going to show up though....

EXCELLENT STUFF !!....

..so there is software that allows you to scan a drawn image into the PC...and the PC or software for that matter recognizes the lines separately as opposed to seeing the whole image as a whole.??...In other words, I won't have to trace my image once it's downloaded??....

..am I reading that right?

...I got a good laugh out of this one...

The Trial

The judge says to a double-homicide defendant, "You're charged with
beating your wife to death with a hammer.
"A voice at the back of the courtroom yells out, "You bastard!
"The judge says, "You're also charged with beating your mother-in-law
to death with a hammer."
The voice in the back of the court room yells out, "You bastard!"
The judge stops and says to the guy in the back of the courtroom,
"Sir, I can understand your anger and frustration at this crime.
But no more outbursts from you, or I'll charge you with contempt. Is that
understood?"
The guy in the back of the court stands up and says,
"I'm sorry, Your Honour, but for fifteen years, I've lived next door to that bastard,
and every time I asked to borrow a hammer, he said he didn't have one."

....ok, back to what I was saying....errrrrrrr....typing

I have attached a hand drawn eagle (meaning pencil and paper). Would it be possible to scan this image and then have the ability to outline and color it?

That's my real question.

now you would do the outline in illustrator then take it over to photoshop to create the effects and shadings....i have not gotten that far on this elf yet, but when i do i will be sure to post you some updates...

..just keep on making believe that I'm only tree years old.

When you say "do the outline in illustrator" ......what exactly does that mean? Outline it with your mouse? Or does illustrator pick up your lines and darken them.....or.....or .......or......????

no you have to use your mouse to do this....there is a tool palette in illustrator and there is a tool called the "pen" tool, the pen tool is your best friend....you have to manually do your lines....

now in photoshop you can use the "magic" wand tool to select your lines....example dragon....this is just a basic sketch...i will show you the selected lines that i do in photoshop (basically what you are talking about)

here is the dragon using the magic wand tool to select the lines...see how it looks like crappola....but you can fix this by using the eraser tool....in photoshop...

best way to do it is to ink your sketch then scan it in it makes it easier for the tool to pick up solid lines...example lion

MrsSFrances I like your work better . I did that quickly in Illustrator, PhotoShop will work as well, I just prefer to work on line drawings in Illustrator.
