My condolences John, I make it a point to call my Dad everyday. Fill the void with your family and friends - and celebrate his life.

Sorry to hear of your loss, John - our thoughts and prayers are with you.

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

John--I haven't been much of a presence here recently due to my own personal issues, but know I'm with you always in spirit, and please accept my heartfelt condolences over your loss, and my personal thanks and deep appreciation for all you're doing to help out Brad's widow and son.

Our thoughts and Prayers are with you as you face this change.
I faced this situation when I was nine years old. I know the pain you are going through but you were blessed with the years you were together and rest in comfort, knowing that he is at rest, beyond pain.

When the smoke clears contact me John. We are thankful that there are tides and moon all through the season. We can work it out!

John, if you truly believe that...then let those words be the strength that carry you thru your sad moments.

...Keep your faith in the Lord, and everything else will work its way out. We sometimes forget that this "world" is a just a test, something to prepare us for our "real" future. We get tested everyday, whether we know it or not, and sometimes the tests are difficult. I believe the absence left by someone's death to be one of my more difficult tests to cope with but as long as we strive to stay on the right paths, we'll get thru them. You said that overall, he was a good guy that did some important things...

John...what you don't realize is that one of the most important things he did...was to raise a great son. The little time that I've known you, you've shown me that you have a great compassion for your fellow man, your a caring person...and you mention your own son quite frequently ..which leads me to believe that you are inspiring your son in the same ways your father inspired you and are following in your father's foot steps. Those are all important traits that your father helped install in you. Take pride in your father, and take pride in yourself. Smile, knowing that he is in "OUR" Father's care now, feeling NO more pain...but looking down upon his son, and feeling proud of him. John, use his death as a tool to remind you to keep your relationship just as strong, if not stronger with your own son. GOD bless you and your family, may he help you keep your chin up and continue to lead you down the correct paths. I'm not a preacher, but I believe FIRMLY in the Lord...and we don't always understand what happens or why he does things, but we have to learn to keep our faith strong. Once again, God Bless ~

My deepest regards to you and your family
