DD Again.
WHen will I learn?....At the drive up:
I'd like two chocolate donuts with chocolate iceing and a small black coffee.
"Would you like a medium coffee?"
No, Small black coffee
"Ok, Small black coffee, what was the other thing?"
Two chocolate donuts with chocolate iceing
"OK $$"
I drive to the window knowing damn good and well that the order is screwed up. She hands the bag to me. It takes 1 millisecond tops to open the bag, look in, confirm my suspicions and hand the bag back.
This isn't my order. I ordered two chocolate donuts with chocolate iceing.
"We don't have those" What she really meant to say was,Take it a-hole, I don't care what you want, but I'm wise to her now.
Yes you do, I can see them in the case right behind you.
What? Oh those, those are double chocolate."
Well put two in the bag so I can be late for work now along with every behind me. Sheesh! All I wanted was a coupla freakin' donuts .

what i wanna do
is to take my walkie talkies with me...
and hold one of -em up to the speaker
then turn around and talk gibberish into the other
until they say: sir we cant understand you
please drive up to the window....
then you can look them square in the eye
and yeah you have to say double chocolate donuts
and most often they are out of them....
dunkin doughnuts could sell a couple of million
(just in massachusetts alone........)
more double chocolate doughnuts per day
but no one is taking note of what people are
ordering... only....what they end up buying...
and jake just order one.....

This is why I always go in, I take my coffee dark with milk and no sugar, they never get it right at the drive thru and 1/2 the time when you are standing there do they get it right. no one seems to understand no sugar for some stupid reason. The way people drink coffee is a shock to me they walk around with a cup 3/4 full of cream and the other 1/4 is full of sugar, where the hell is the coffee?

It amazes me how often "black, no sugar" turns into light and sweet at DD--counter or drive-up. Nowadays, I only take DDs if someone else buys

I'm not a fan of DD at all, partly because their coffee upsets my delicate plumbing system and partly because of the horror stories I read about them here, but my kids are big fans of those latte's which cost so much I guess they're made of part refined middle east crude oil. But the one at Christie's Exxon in So. Yarmouth may be an exception. First, for four weeks we've been up, my girls raved over how well they make the lattes. "They are awesome, dad, better than any DD in NJ." Second, while I was gassing there up before my last trek home while m'ladies were inside for coffee, bagels and doughnuts for the ride home. I could see the line was to the door when they came out. I was just getting ready to pull out when one of the clerks comes running out with a bag, scans the area, and runs over to my truck. My wife forgot a doughnut in a bag on the counter and she brought it out to her.

I avoid them all now! DD's, Tim Horton's, ect...no matter what..A Regular large Iced Coffee is never the same..burnt, too dark, too light, too much ice, not enough or no ice at all, to much sugar...ect..
it all depends on who's shift it is..not to mention they dont give a s%^&!
I've been brewing mine at home now for a little over a year..I take it with me in a large mug..(larger than a large at DD's ha!) and guess what...1. Its saves me a s$%^& load of $$$ 2. I never have to deal with blah blah blah blah over the intercom.. 3. Im never late for work. 4. It taste the best, and its always the way I like it
once you go homebrew you'll never go back..
Break the habit..you'll see..

I don't do DD either. I go by a Hess station on the way to work buy my coffee there with the newspaper cheaper and better than DD. I also used to stop at the local 7 11 great coffee there better than hess just to far out of the way for me with my new job. ThomT
