No complaints this year. No pogies to be found this weekend , but changed gears to rubbah for some 0600 fun action.

I kind feel like the guy who buys a snowplow.....and then it doesn't snow all winter.

Really impresses what the team members have put on the board for the Striper Cup. And I signed up for boat division, which means I have to get >43# to make a difference. Hell, a 24# fish won the Maddie's Anglers Tourney this weekend.

Nibula, I agree with you, but some of the time I, like others have mentioned, only can fish during the daytime . Prefer night, but.....

Guys and gals, be sure to start a thread when you turn the tide! So we can delete you from ISC roll call. Go get 'em.

Definitly had to work for the few I got, nothing like an epic 20 second battle with a 24" fish on 65lb braid We'll see what this week holds.

Keep on pluggin!

last year, I pulled 4 all nighters, fished 2 nights every week from May -November. Largest fish was 18lbs, never had a fish pull my drag all season. Fished all nights, mostly eels. Very disappointing.
This year, last 5 trips have = keeper fish, nice fighters. They were all boat fish though and as we all know.....they dont count : )

i WILL get a 30 this year

Sucks so far from the surf.
I've actually slowed my fishing down as well, until a classic summer weather pattern evolves.
I'll wait out for consistent S-SW winds and the dog days of hot and humid nights, before I make a big push again and start pulling all-nighters.
The fish are around, just not close in. E and N winds have kept bait outside the surf zone and until sou'westerlys (more than the 1-2 days in row so far this year) move bait and fish back into casting range it will remain slow.
Certain areas will benefit from bunker dropping out of the bay, but the guys who reg. fish those places are likely to be the only ones who'll capitalize on the situation.
Ive read all sorts of theorys, including bunker have created a fish vacauum!?! I think we just need to wait for weather to cooperate and go back to what works.
Just my theory (JMT)

Sooner or later you're going to realize just as I did that there's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path. - Morpheus

I've put at least 10 nights in June with zero keepers. If you need 20" bass I'm your man.

My first season from the surf sucks!

But I did convince my wife that i "needed" a st. croix rod for throwing eels.. but then she messed me up and said ok.

what the heck kind of head games are these?

johnny,

Before she changes her mind, suggest you get her a nice set up too! Then you can choose which one to use when she doesn't 'join' you.... Then you'll have quality light and heavy set ups!

I suck so bad that I worked the last three days 13 hours plus, then planned a trip tomorrow with my friends in the thundertorm, high surf, 20 knot winds.
Looks like I'll be hanging at home working out on the punching bag, instead!
Later,
Rick

My Suckability factor is only limited by the lack of quality starts... One can only suck if they go out and not catch, if you can rarely get out, the suck factor sucks less
