This one taunted my wife for a couple weeks before I got him last year....then....ANOTHER ONE MOVED IN a few weeks later. I trapped both and let them go 10 miles away in a heavily wooded area. Both fell for fresh brocolli. I told my wife to get some fresh brocolli to bait the trap......she proceeded to buy 3 heads Check him out sitting on the deck....






Then I had to do this to my deck.....dug down a foot and angled the screening 90 degrees so they can't dig under.

both woodchuck and squirrel are correct. woodchucks belong to the group of rodents called "ground squirrels". chipmunks, prariedogs, marmots etc....

dont be fooled by the fur disguise, its a seal.......take it out.

ts a skinny little woodchuck. I got one that periodically sits up on my back door steps. It is true about how every day they take a few bites out of something different in the garden. I once grew melons and every night when they started to ripen I would lose on to just a few bites by the woodchuck. When all the melons were gone , he got a hankering for sweet corn. He would knock the whole stalk down to get a few nibblets off one ear. next day , a different stalk knocked down. I once hid outside and when he entered the garden I gave him one in the butt with a BB gun. He barely moved after one pop and just walked away after the second. Anyway , I just forget about him now but if I go out that door at night I turn the light on first and take a look. I'd hate to startle him by walking out 2 feet from him. Mine was a real fatty , not skinny like this one. Maybe as some have said , its just a baby and hasn't filled out yet
