Seems like a good thread... cult classics work in here too...
Under appreciated recent movie I just saw again while up w/ a crying baby at 12am was Idiocracy (Mike Judge Movie) about a guy who wakes up in the year 2500 as the smartest man in really degraded society...

All 3 of the Evil Dead movies are great....my kids love Army of Darkness.
A couple of Must See Sc-Fi films are The Day the Earth Stood Still (the original) and Forbidden Planet.
