This is what's wrong with Massachusetts
“There is no way in hell we’re going to elect a Republican to Ted Kennedy’s seat,’’ US Representative Michael E. Capuano, Coakley’s chief primary rival, said at the unity event in the Kennedy Room of the Omni Parker House. “Period.’’
I thought the seat "belonged" to the people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It's not Tedy's seat, it's certainly not the Democrats' seat, even though they act as if it is theirs. There is such a sense of entitlement that keeps the Democrats from fully respecting what a privilege it has been for them to occupy that seat for so long.
On the one hand they evoke the name Ted Kennedy at every chance and on the other they swarm over his empty senate seat like a bunch of vultures.
Vote Brown.

I loved Coakley's comment awhile back where she stated that she does not advocate 'self-help' when speaking about citizens defending themselves.
Couple that with this comment from an unknown source: "When seconds count, help is only minutes away!"
I will also be voting for change, but not the Deval/Obama kind of change, but REAL change that will actually do some good for the state!

Things really must be in the toilet if Sweetwater is ranting in here. I agree with you though, Brown's got my vote.

If the citizens of Massachusetts truly took the time to understand what the candidates and parties stood for they wouldnt elect a Democrat.
If you look at a portion of the Democrats base - union blue collar catholics. Do they understand that the Dems are FOR giving benefits to illegal aliens, whihc take their jobs, FOR abortion, which is against their religion and FOR higher taxes which hurt small business. Its stupidity.

Then theirs the "lemming" effect, where voters vote for the "popular" candidate, which they are told from the media, which gets their info from the campaign headquarters of said candidate.
Looking at the turnout from the primary this past week, it's no wonder. People are going to vote the party line, even if that party is dragging them down to the poor house, taking away their rights and giving their money and jobs to illegal aliens.
Ask anyone WHY they are voting for a particular candidate and the most common answer, after "I don't know" will be something along the lines of "I like the way he/she looks/sounds!"
Very few know about the "favorite" candidate because they either don't want to do the research, or the candidate doesn't do interviews without prepared questions and answers.
This state is so totally screwed, and without clean-sweeping the state house, nothing will ever change!

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio

You know Johnny D's a closet conservative. He's too smart to be a Massachusetts liberal.

Thanks FB!
I can't agree with RIJimmy's post more. Amongst my friends, most of which are in their late 20s, few can really tell you what benefits the candidate the *voted for* will bring to the table.
It's interesting how many times I've said things along the lines of "we need someone what will support small businesses, reduce unconditional welfare handouts, or get more money into education", them agree with me and then learn that they voted for the exact opposite.

If people are going to vote, I'd rather them be educated about what they're voting for compared to who they thing they're voting for.
