Wahoo video

Just figured out I could cover the rampant F-bombs for youtube broadcast! w/ music

thought it was a big mahi or a small mako on the strike. Went from "probably a mahi" to holy sh-t in 1 second... slow day over all. One nice 70ish YFT and some mahi...

Just picked a random song. no comments on the music.
First Wahoo on "Valhalla Rising"
Capt George Oakley (Tautog on S-B)
Gaff was yours truly aka "Edgar"
Angler was Robbie "Deer Slayer" edwards
Camera was David Oakley, didn't know he was filming in the background....

We figured well over 60lb. straight fork length was in the mid 60" range.

Nice! I got a few of those in that same area two years ago. Very good eating. Man they can run fast too. The coolest thing about that fish is the head. They have scissor like teeth, imagine two razorblades in a scissor like bite. We lost the first couple...one bit thru 400# mono leader and it didn't pull the line from the outrigger clip. We figured it out and put back a bait with a wire cable.
The next one I catch I am having the head mounted on a board.

Bigger and badder than 'cuda!!

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

How come I'm never invited offshore?

Sorry I dropped your personal best 12lb bass Jeff.

No offshore because you would wear matching Henry Llyoyd gear... not our style

Oh, and I wasn't holding a 7ft gaff on SW ledge that night.
That fish would have been in the bumper cooler if I had, with a hole in it's head....

Yea, and to your credit you were fighting the 12" swell that was crashing the bar.

Haven't I pretty much out fished you just about every time we've been out?

I'm serious here, and I mean, like I'm pretty bad.

Next time we go out I will focus on catching and not on guiding your Iowan arse around..

Nebe, save your $$ buying a Newport fishing license just to be able to take Spence's Iowan arse fishing. There is no water around Newport IA. This post is from someone bred/born in IOWA, and it sure ain't anything close to what people know as Heaven! Nor do they grow potatoes there...........
