Not the fastest, and none of them are 'the 30 best' but what are your favorite to hear on the radio? Known or unknown guitarists.. In otherwords, what gets you air guitaring? NO CRITICAL Comments like "Yuck, how do you like that"
There are hundreds I can think of, but two that popped on recently that are favorites...
I love the exit solo on White room. not the fastest, or longest of Claptons, but a favorite...

wow, so many. Tull- Aqualung, Procol Harum- The Idol, Outlaws- Green Grass and High Tides, Dave Mason- Shouldn't of took more than you gave, Gary Moore- Only fool in town, to name a few off the top of my head. I like so many

Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover
Allman Brothers Band - Blue Sky
Jorma Kaukonen - Sea Child (on Hot Tuna's Burghers)
Pete Anderson (w. Dwight Yokum) - Long White Cadillac
Tom Verlaine - Marquee Moon
An odd mix of jazz and country that works so well. Listen to George Bensons solo in the middle of the song. That guitar is smooth as butter in his hands.

thanks so much for posting that. 2 of my favorite guitar players and I never saw/heard this before. This is some amazing playing.
Tom Verlaine...Tom Verlaine... wow, I did not see that coming. Great pick that one! As are all of the above in their own right.
My first come to mind favs always seem to be Metheny "Amelia" live from Shadows and Light, and Gilmore "Shine on You Crazy Diamond".
Suppose I would also offer up Frank Zappa - Variation On The Carlos Santana Secret Chord Progression, John McLaughlin with Mahavishnu Orchestra "Meeting of the Spirits", Al DiMeola "Race With The Devil on a Spanish Hwy".
Tom Verlaine....wow
Maybe we should be having a Vinyl Fest or something just like it.
Alvin Lee, Ten Years After, I'm Goin' Home at Woodstock 8/15/69. Give it a listen.... unbelievable, and he was WHACKED!!!!
I've never even owned a Ten Years After album but Woodstock 1969 Alvin Lee is still my favirote live performance ever.. Best guitar faces anyway ... frickin great piece .. long ,, too bad they cut it short .
been listening to Emotion and Commotion a lot lately..
and while moet likely not on the Radio.. it is amazing.. I know it is Beck playing..but I hear Judy Garland a LOT, in this rendition...
