These guy's are hard core, they leave from the same marina I am brerthed at...they catch fish when other do not.. and fish when others run for home and mother..
The Stripers Inn that is located in the same complex, gives ( at least they used to) discounts to those using the Clipper fleet.. so if you are there the night before, you simply stumble from your rack stroll across the parking lot ( get coffee or breakfast at the fish tale diner) and get on the boat.. never getting into your vehicle until you go home...

They are out of Newburyport/Salisbury, right?
You know this is Mother's Day? Might not get a great turnout.

I am still in for the 15th, and a buddy of mine wants to go as well.. So chalk me down for two spots. Might be able to get some more people to go as well, I'll ask around.

Please count me in (2 slots please)! I have been dying to go with these guys during that time of the year. Any interest in making it a 12 hour marathon? Thanks for organizing the trip Niko!
FYI, Stripers is also a very good restaurant if you are looking for a place to eat. The trouble is that it also tends to be a good night spot so if you stop by for dinner on Saturday night you might be tempted to stay a little longer than you may have wished come morning.

Is it the Challenger for $1450, or the smaller Sundance II? Website reads like the Challenger has different rates.
I'd throw down some extra cash for a bigger boat/marathon trip, for sure... but I guess that depends on how many people are going.

How big is the sundance 2? Ive been out on the challenger and maybe the Sundance a number of years ago. While i would love to catch a 50 lb'er what are the chances of a release on a fish that size? Its gotta be tough if you plan on getting it over the gunwale. Maybe knockin the jig out with a gaff... If only i have the chance to run into that problem.

All depends on depth and how quick you crank it up is my guess...
I don't even know what I'd do with that much cod, and you'd probably be picking worms out of those fillets for a full day

when we get a final list of guys would everyone mind sending me a check for $25 so i don't have to lay out the whole deposit for a few months? if god forbid the trip biffs out due to weather i'll promptly return everyones deposit. and if you catch a 50 rob just close your eyes while i "release" her, the big thud you hear on the deck will just be someone fainting

Most of those big girls come belly up.. there is not alot of release if you get one.... I carry a vewnting tool, and it works great on the smaller stuff... not so much in the big ones....there should be a fair amount of haddock as well... clams or a small jig worked very slowly work well.. the Sudance is a big boat.. i'm not sure how big... dryer and faster than the Challenger too...
