It doesn't look sooo bad. I am sure some guys down your way will see this and hook up with you. Not sure where you are in RI but the TFCTGFN (S-B party) is in New Bedford tomorrow night and it is a great way to meet guys from the site and I am sure there will be some RI guys there. Good Luck JP

I've mentioned in the past that we should have a forum for people looking for someone to fish with. Kind of a "hey, I'm heading down to SoCo tonight and looking for someone to fish with". Then work out the details through pm's so no spots are mentioned in the public forum.

As for "hooking up" with another guy, you might want to try another site for that. Or maybe an airport restroom. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

Not saying you can't find people to fish with here but you might want to check out some of the surfcasting clubs in RI. Not sure where you are located but there has to be one that isn’t too far from you.

Good stuff in this thread, from humor to advice.

Recommendations:

  • Local Clubs - there are several to consider and joining a club and getting to fish with others is one great way - where are you from?
  • Come to our Fishing Legs - we try to match comparable skills and get people fishing together.
  • I think a forum or process to get people fishing together is good and will be more necessary this year if gas prices tank.
  • Stay out of Airport Bathrooms. Wrong kind of fishing.

I'd keep your eel bucket strapped to you side though if I were you....

He looks like he only goes bottom fishing. By the way, how did you find that pic? I hope it's not someone from your club.

I'm glad my pic didn't come up.

Where was Spence on the list of "Gay Fishermen"? Oh, nevermind. He doesn't fish.

LoL He aught to be up here in Maine. I can't talk anyone into going out on the rocks up here at night with me. They;re afraid of the slippery weed and won,t wear korkers. Yet they always ask to go with me. I don't have all that many sandy beaches up here LOL

Paul Bunyan.....let me offer you some advice! Last season we had a kayak forum that was pretty darn quiet (early season) and a bunch of guys who had or were buying kayaks and more than likely looking for someone to go with? I know I was......so I started the "Scrambles" to get people from the site who had kayaks together to fish and kayak and to try new places and to help each other along! Most of all just to get together and have a great time! I think its been a huge success?! Maybe if you try the same thing....as others have said say "Hey I am going to fish Soco.....anyone heading out and want to get together?"......just reach out as you have when the season gets here and you will find someone to get out there with. If you have a kayak by any chance I invite you to join us! Definitely attend one of the "Legs" though!!!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I can count on one hand the people I will fish with. It is getting fewer and fewer as I get older. Just totally intolerant of imbeciles.
