Is the 4/30 deadline date just for the tournament? I would still like to make a donation for your run if it is not too late. I could send out check tomorrow. Thx James

Better tonight. 2 fish in the rocks. A little better size. I think the first was about 30-31" (although the perspective says less...the plug is 6.5"), the second about 28"........but I didn't check in case I was wrong

Join the club. I've never started the season off with 3 skunkings in a row. At least last night, my fishing partner caught a couple fish. I had 2 on that I fought for a few seconds before they got themselves freed. I guess I'll blame it on the crushed barbs rather than my own ineptitude.
Not sure when I'll make it out again, but I'll keep giving it a try until I land one.

Having never entered a tournament like this before, I learned that taking a one handed picture of a thrashing schoolie in chest deep water in the middle of the night is a bit of a challenge.

I forgot to add, I said f'it after awhile. The cause is why I entered anyway. I think we CT guys have an unfair advantage this early, anyway.

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

Yikes, this is getting serious. I'm standing out there in lightning trying to no avail to hook fish too small to eat a 5" plug . Still stuck on 4 fish total.

flat ass calm / 1 hour before dark .prime conditions for schoolies ............... 0/0/0 Again .

no surprize to me ...........only been saying it for the last 5/6 years

& your not even sure all the fish that have been caught are [fresh] ...... the holdovers [Hudson river Fish ] leave also & go further up the coast ; & your resident summer schoolie is from the Chessie & there are only drips & large coming from there .

ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE !!!

Yup. I suspect these fish are from the northern rivers, not the Chesapeake yet. Had a friend kill a 30" fish yesterday....it was full of eggs. If it had been from the south I think it would have spawned......or already been dead. On a brighter note, he got into plenty of fish with his flyrod so maybe things will pick up.

This should get the prize for worst cell phone pic ever. Much better class of fish about 34" FAT stuffed with herring?. Even pulled some drag.
