It's about the kids..
Here are few few of the "younger" generation that have benifitted from having fathers that love to ice fish...

it's not as good as it used to be since the tournoments started....... but you never know when a 5 lb. pickerel or a 8 lb bass might swallow your bait... in icefishing... as in striper fishing . big bait = big fish.. GO BIG OR GO HOME... Unless you like alot of action..

It's definitely not as good as it used to be.
After a quick discussion, a friend and I released a 4 3/4 pound bass thinking it would never have a chance at even placing in an ice tourny on that pond. Later, we found out my friends uncle and his buddy who lives on the pond took third with one in the middle 4's.
That's the first time I've admitted that

Some my favorite ice pics with my fishing buddy. In order: her very first day on the ice, then her first time pulling a fish thru the hole, & with the bass, Jules did it all by herself from baiting up, spotting the flag, setting the hook & finally icing him, damn I was proud! Now if I could only get her to sit still in the deer stand....
