Girl with Dragon Tattoo
I watched the triology and they were all excellent. Coming out soon is Girl with Dragon Tattoo American version. I really enjoyed the originals and not sure if I should watch the American version.
Anyone already watch the originals still going to watch the American versions? I am afraid I will be disappointed.

I watched 2 of the originals. Both were pretty good. Doubt the American version will be as good.

Thanks, Paul. Now when people say I have an easy job I'll tell them I know a guy who watches movies when he's supposed to be working.

Just watched all three in the last 24 hours. I really liked them all with the first being my favorite. The US version has gotten some excellent reviews, especially for the cinematography....I'm going to have to give it a try.

Saw it a few nights ago. Very close to the Swedish version. Infact, they may have even used the same island and houses?????

I just came back from seeing the American version. I never saw the originals or read the books(contemplating doing it now), but I thought the movie was awesome. Great imagery and Trent Reznor doing the music was killer (dark and ominous like you'd expect). Can't wait for the next one....
Oh for anyone who doesn't know, definitely NOT kid friendly....

Around this time last winter I read the trilogy in hasty time. While I didn't see the Swedish versions, I did see the American release yesterday and enjoyed it. Great scenery, acting, soundtrack, casting, textual integrity. Swedish influence, of course, but seemingly made with more of an European flair than the usual Hollywood production.

That's cool. I had not read the books and I tend not to watch too many subtitled films. It certainly looks good with the ads and trailers. Those Swedes - very intellectual society - all those months of darkness and cold make for a lot of indoor people who read a lot. We won't mention the suicide rate though.

I thought the american version was better than the original swedish one, enjoyed both though.
Not too sure about the other movies, it will be hard to make them as good mainly because the story just isn't there imho.

Swedish version (#1) is much better than the American IMO, even having to read subtitles.
