Anybody got gas below $3?

Gas near me is as low as $3.11. I wonder if we'll see below $3? With all the gloom and doom being preached over the last 4 to 5 months I expected an increase but instead of going up gas actually went down 10-15 cents.

I was told that it was because they had to truck it way out there once. Don't they truck it way out everywhere? Capies get gouged plain and simple. My last tank cost me 3.10.

ya Fred.. you can find a 35 cent difference.. five mile over the bridge, five miles the other side.. yeah.. it must cost 35 cents more a gallon to deliver it those 10 extra miles... give me a friggin break.. bullsheite plain and simple... saw an invoice what they charge the independant dealler too once a few years back...they only make about a dime a gallon... figure the percentage... I truly do not know why they bother!.. I know, I know ...volume.. but you got to sell a #^&#^&#^&#^& ton just to cover expenses, and liability insurance in that biz, must be brutal!

I keep telling you guys--someone has to pay for the bridge toll.

They just jacked the price 4 cents a gallon at most of the BBay stations today--Christmas travel price gouging, or did the price of crude go up, who knows.

Come to CT. $3.54 for regular. I would freak out a little more about it but having a company vehicle helps to.

It's the price we pay on the Cape to be able to fish next to fancy fur coated critters.
My wife can't afford a sealskin coat. Not yet anyway.

Stop & Shop rewards points don't count.

My aunt had so many points she paid $2.79.

We dont shop there much, but what we do buy accents shaving money off the price per gallon at the pumps. Tried to get wife to buy Butterball lat week, but she said freezer is full. Would have saved $.20 a gallon this week. Trying tog et a new f 150 with a 36 gallon tank, so I'll have to get gas at Stop & Shop then.

I buy at S+S sometimes when I have enough points but for making a benchmark as to if or when the price of gas goes below $3 I think its more realistic if its simply gas for anybody , any time.

Thing I don't like about the SS points is they expire in 30 days. Lots of time I get close to 100 points (10 cents off/gallon) but lose them before I go over the top.

I used to go to Stop & Shop religiously to stock up on points.

Then I realized that by going to Market Basket I was shaving off ~30% of my grocery bill each trip, and I was NOT saving that much in gas...

If it's your only grocery store around, then the points are a great thing... But if there are other stores nearby you're likely losing money in the long run... The S&S prices are outta control.

It may be a topic for another thread but I seldom buy anything at SS , Daves, Shaws unless its onsale . I like SS quality but as you said , prices are high for items not on sale. Luckily I like just about everything so buying food thats on sale is no real problem.

We don't have Market Basket around here. Best place to save money near me is Pricerite

$3.19 has been the best I've seen so far but that is now back up to $3.26.

Gotta love the S&S points though. With the commute from Tiverton to Westerly they come in damn handy!I actually got gas for $2.52 a few weeks back.

I hear you on that. Even better is the promotion S&S has going on now, use your iPhone or Android as your scanner and get 100pts. The Misses or I are at the supermarket every few days for little odds and ends. At one point we had something like 500pts, saved about $10 filling my truck.
