Sports Talk - Title TownSports Talk - Our Home for the 2004/2007 World Champion Red Sox, Super Bowl XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX Champion Patriots! SEVENTEEN TIME NBA Champion Boston Celtics, 2011 winners of Lord Stanley's Cup Boston Bruins!!!
Starts tonight! I think we should beat these guys hands down. In fact it should be easier than the Atlanta series. Now the problem....we are the walking wounded. Between Pierce and Allen we lose a huge amount of court presence. I hope Pierce can spring back as he is the backbone of the team. Its too bad there wasn't a longer rest between series. 4 days instead of two could have made a big difference for both guys.
Anyway , I think we have the guns to make it to the next round.
like you said, the key is their health. if they are as slow as they were the last game of the Hawks series, I'm worried that the Sixers will run us off the court. Go Celts!
Unfortunately Pierce is all but dragging his leg up and down the court. You could see numerous times where his knee was "giving out" as he mistepped or tried to stop quick. I'm worried we lose him for the rest of the playoffs soon. I'm also worried he hurts it worse by playing, so that whole thing is not good.Forgot to add that with Pierce totally dragging his leg , Phily doesn't even bother to defend him. instead , garnett gets double teamed. What a mess!
We defintely should have won last night but that's the way the ball bounces.
Go Celtics

Yeah, Paul should've sat out the first game. He's hurting the team in the long run. But I still trust him more than anyone else on the team...
I don't know about game 1 but by game 2 he was so noticeably worse I am surprised they played him. Maybe with a 4 day stretch to recover he could make some progress. You got to really question the strategy of playing him when he's so gimped up. I mean I'm all for players palying with some injuries but if enduring the pain is for nothing because your legs just won't work then give him a game off.
I also still say Rondo has gone too far in the showboating direction. yes he is contributing a lot but all the razzle dazzle he's attempting is costing turnovers and his last minute shovel offs to up his assists tally is costing us layups he could just toss in.
All season long other guys have stepped up "when they had to", they need to do it now and give Pierce a break.
Rondo threads a fine line: spread the ball and they can't double team him when he goes to the basket, there is always the chance that he is going to hand it off and make you look stupid cuz he does a large % of the time.
Frasier: Niles, I’ve just had the most marvelous idea for a website! People will post their opinions, cheeky bon mots, and insights, and others will reply in kind!

You know with Bosch hurt , this whole thing could get very interesting! I suppose we got to beat Phily before we worry about Miami but with losing their center , Miami could be vulnerable now.
Horrible friggin' loss. Doc's coaching has to be called into question, so many blunders. Why keep going to KG? Why leave Ray in the game and not put in Pietrus? What happened to Bass, did he get injured? And why the hell didn't they ride Pierce the rest of the game when he had it going!?! He could've had 30 easily. So friggin' frustrating
Yep , a real kick in the butt! I would have said it was impossible to lose that game but I watched it happen. Well anything goes now. We dropped an easy win and put the fire back into the sixers who were a beaten team. Really bad turn of events.
Am I the only person who thinks that with the Lakers out, the Celtics might get some liberties from the refs during Game 7?
After reading Tim Donaghy's book and with all the other blatant favoritism in the NBA, it'd tough watch any of these games with anything but skepticism.
