Very sad to hear this Dennis. I was really hoping that he was going to beat it (as I'm sure others were). Chuck was top-shelf and will be truly missed.
I'm honored to have that fellow-portagueez prints hanging on my wall.
Rest in Peace Crafty.
God Bless you and provide comfort to your family during this most difficult time.

Chuck was one of the nicest, most welcoming, giving people you could ever meet. He had a smile and easy manner that would light up a room. He cared about people and it showed. Miss you Chuck. May God bless you and RIP.

I just spoke with him a few weeks ago and he was in good spirits and seemed to be looking forward to getting back in gear. Truly a good man and friend. This life here is all too temporary.

Just got back from thew wake, on the way out I took a little cruise. I will think of this place when I'm out fishing as it is one of his favorites.

Thanks John - shared lots of casts there with Chuck. His live eel spot.

What a shame, while I never fished with him, he came all the way to my home in Halifax MA one weekend to pick up some of my plastic and pick through some of the fishing gear I had out in a yard sale. We talked for quite a while and again later that year in his shop in Newport, too young, my thoughts go out to his family.

Damn, I haven't been around much (too busy w/ divorce BS) and I sent a pm to some guy who posted about him, but he never got back to me.

Last time I saw him (July 2011), I dropped off a rod he purchased from me and he showed me all the work he had been doing in the back yard. His tomatoes there were amazing (my Dad's that year were terrible due to the odd weather in the spring)! Lots of flowers, too. Fishing was pretty dismal that week, .

Use to have some fun hanging out in the basement getting history lesson of old plugs, trading lures and sharing stories. It was Chuck who got me fishing tins! Always made me feel welcomed and was very hospitable to family when we use to vacation there.

RIP my friend, say hi to Habs for me.

DAMN IT!!!!
Chuck and I were pretty close back a few years ago. He was a good friend, a good fisherman and just an all around good guy. I'll always remember the laughs we had at Flo's a few years back.

Too many of the good ones are reaching the clearing at the end of the the path as John puts it.

No boat, back in the suds.
