Might wanna throw an extra bat. in your truck just in case... bad alternators suck in the winter (WAIT it isnt even WINTER yet!!!
)

Three more weeks, then I will say I need spring, but still fishing/catching here, just not stripes.....

Dave

Get the alternator checked, if it is shot, pick up a remanufactured one, shouldn't take 20 minutes to swap it out.

Either that or go get a payment book
not that you need that!

Could be a bad ground wire from the frame to the chassis, theat truck spends a little time near the salt, no?
voltage regulator is internal in the alt on that I think..
solenoid, you just rplaced tha starter last year, no? meybe...
have you got access to a tester, would save time, sometimes if ya know a guy at a garage, he'll diagnos it for ya in a jifffy,
Got Ralph?

I don't think it would be the solenoid, starter would either not work, or keep grinding away. Alt was hot, that don't sound good, but OK now? Could be bad ground, look for green fur growing around the cables, especially where they bolt to Chassis. Clean them up, if you see that schtuff.

(read my post (frame to chassis) DOH!, I was typing in a hurry, sorry

Dave it's either the alternator or the voltage regulator....if you changed the alternator then do the regulator too...if money an issue maybe a parts yard??
