$46B of the $80B that is in the bill is specifically earmarked for the hiring of agents. The median income for IRS agents is $55,937 a year, which come out to roughly 83,000 agents hired. So the 87,000 agents # being thrown around is pretty close

So you show up again peddling 1/2 truths like your buddy shocking

In your own provided link

The department estimated in a 2021 report that the funding may cover about 87,000 employees, which has been widely reported. However, these hires may include a range of positions, such as auditors, customer service and IT workers, the Treasury clarified in a statement to CNBC on Wednesday.

Let me guess you missed that part

how would you go about demonstrating that you’re not in a cult? for the 1,000th time, can you list some big policy issues in which you agree with conservatives? or do you ( despite NOT being in a cult) think liberals are correct on every single, solitary issue?

you said republicans want a brutal fascist big federal government to impose sharia law. 5 minutes later you said they want no rules so that it’s every man for himself

but you’re not in a cult.

your high school english teacher just checked himself into rehab.

i mean, i make a LOT of typos, way too many, but that’s some fine lefty gibberish right there.

i don’t think the FBI is the enemy, but i don’t deny that there’s evidence that the left has occasionally used the DOJ as a weapon against political
opponents. Kind of hard to deny that.

The Democrats are not increasing the IRS because they think they're going to be audited ... They're increasing the size of the IRS so they can use it as a political weapon against conservatives," Clyde said.

"[The beefed-up IRS] will become more weaponized ... more militaristic," said Clyde, alluding to an alleged IRS job posting in which some applicants might be expected to carry firearms, potentially for citizen raids.

And well over half of them are planned hires to replace projected retirements.

Yep, that and those positions already vacant from past attrition. But the point of my post was breaking down the math for the agents as a whole. That and to show that a significant chunk of the money was for the hiring of agents.

this all you need to know.....

CBS News

The Inflation Reduction Act would invest $370 billion in fighting climate change and $64 billion to lower costs for people with Affordable Care Act health plans. To pay for that, Democrats want the IRS to step up audits and enforcement efforts to collect billions that currently get lost in the so-called tax gap.

no comment on the fact the democrats took out the elimination of a tax loophole for the wealthy, in that bill. so let’s not hear any nonsense about wanting the wealthy to pay their fair share.

something called the “carried interest loophole” which benefits private equity investors ( not a lot of poor people in that group). recent versions of the inflation reduction. bill included the elimination of that loophole to help pay for it. Sinema, who takes campaign donations from very wealthy private equity folks, had that elimination removed, thus preserving the loophole. The democrats passed the version of the bill which preserved that loophole

So are you admitting you don’t realize that sometimes you need to take things out in order to get a holdout vote you need to pass the bill so the majority passes? Of are you just running out of good talking points as this administration continues to pass good legislation that helps average Americans?

my god did you miss the point.

if democrats actually believed in making the rich pay their fair share, they wouldn’t have had to take it out. But they didn’t have the votes within their own party unless they took it out, which necessarily means the democrats as a whole don’t really believe what they claim to believe.

make that wrong.

the democrats quickly became the party of the billionaire class. wall
street leans very much to the left now. So can we just admit it.

i’m old
enough to remember when you guys criticized the right for being the party of the rich. but today it’s a good thing to be the party of the rich? why is that?

If the Dems like the Trumplicans only passed legislation that was strict party line, they could accomplish as little of value to the American people as the Trumplicans do.

When Republicans have power, they ban abortion, cut billionaires’ taxes and attack LGBT Americans. When Democrats have power, they add jobs, fund veteran care, bring manufacturing home, protect the climate and defend reproductive rights.

Which do you think is better for America?

He’s working

With the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act in the House, families will see lower prescription drug prices, lower health care costs, and lower energy costs.
