A few years ago the old man calls me into the t.v. room. He's sitting there watching a boat fishing show where the guys are crankin' in 30 pound plus bass one after another. I wanted to cry with envy. Then my father asks me if I notice anything wierd. I said yeah, big deal. Their on a boat probably off the Vineyard and their into a big school. He says look agian. I notice all the mountains in the background and find that wierd. He says its cause their on a lake... in ARKANSAS.......A land locked lake called BEAVER LAKE just absolutely piled up with big stripers. My father turns on the volume and the guide is talking saying how they catch a lot of big fish and that 35 pounds is the AVERAGE fish....in a fresh water lake........................in ARKANSAS!!!!!!! What a great state, not only can you marry your sister, but they have big stripers.

Thanks to Mike P, I got some good info on the Bassdozer site for guides, license, what the fish do this time of year etc. Thanks Mike! Looks like the fish go deep this time of year so guiding it is the MO.

My dad took a canyon river ride in Nevada he said the guide told him reports of striped bass that feed on Rainbow trout.
