Not sure if this is true but I heard BeachMaster (Bobby G or MetalLip) use to turn plugs for Danny Pichney(Danny Lures). I have more than I could fish in a lifetime. Just love the quality of his lures.

I've heard this as well - as far as more than you can fish in a lifetime - I don't - spread the wealth please

As far as I know (and i could be wrong) , plugs are sold without hooks to avoid the fishing excise tax. If it has hooks , they have to pay the tax.

Any Beachmaster lure is worth it's weight in gold. I would never enjoy the success I have had along the Elizabeth Islands if it were not for the selection of Beachmaster medium Danny's I carry along with me. Bob at Beachmaster is the real deal.

I wish Gibbs and Superstrike would sell their stuff without hooks, rather than using those cheap-assed breakaway Mustad open-eyes
Most guys change out stock hooks anyway so it makes more sense, when your target market is surf hardcores, to sell them without hooks.

Mike your right on that--super strike plugs have horrible hooks; but, and I say this quietly, they catch fish. The 2 or so ounce bottle is a must have in the surf bag, takes a beating great, digs, casts--and the darter too............................................... .......................but me oh my those beachmaster darters are finest kind
I cannot wait for the metal lips, coming soon is what I heard

Make's sense as a plug without hooks isnt a finished product!!
