Ok, so my least favorite fishing personality is on this morning and I decided it would be good to watch the entire thing so I can be more accurate in my hatred of him.

He is still and idiot. He was fishing for summer flounder and managed to ruin a good afternoon for most. The guy is a punk.

I am prejudice and I won't hide from it. The guy is so sad.

Jimmy Houston is far more entertaining, modest and skilled.

Moore is useless, loud and a punk. Lately the network has a "Beat Charlie Moore" program. So the idiot is using peoples dislike of him to market more shows. Today he is against his sister. I am sure she is a real bright mind.

Popper. Ads = advertisements.

Junk TV. Same as a soap opera.

Film and TV is an illusion. People don't want reality, they want entertainment.

Thats why it makes a good kids show. Not a shred of skill involved

Someone should challange him to a contest.. one night... 5 baits, needlefish, swimmer, bucktail, plastic and live eel; first to catch a bass on each lure wins.... What a sack o sheeite.... If he was on my boat, or fishing with me, he'd be treading water with a danforth around his waist now that would be entertaining!!!

Well I don't want to alienate my self and appear as this guy's PR man. Yeah his talent is limited and skills as well but If I had the choice of letting my kids watch him or other "Reality" TV like the queer from Portsmouth on an island getting vulgar. They'd watch Moore. all that said. I rather watch Belushi pulling line siders at Nantucket or James Taylor pulling stripers even if he don't know what he's doing because I love stripers

p.s. I say Larry Tzonka on a fishing show once pulling 100 pound halibut off alaska. Those are some awsome flatties.

That one with Larry Csonka fishing for halibut was on this past weekend...I remember the weight on his line was the size of a baseball...Good Show...Alaska is one of my Dream places to fish.

I saw Roland Martin's Group pull in a 200+ pounder this past weekend as well.....

Would you want your kid to develop THAT kind of sense of humor ?

I am really not a grump, I promise. I just am a little to straight up sometimes. Work in the trades on a transient island and we have to constantly weed through the wankers.

Guys like Moore aren't welcome anywhere out here. They convince you that they have some sort of ability when they actually have none. A big waste of money on a crew.

Once a tosser, always a tosser..........

Hi Charlie! Thanks for getting back to me all those times I tried to make arrangements to have you at a Major New England Fishing Show! "NOT"! I guess some people just forget all the "little" people that support them all along the way! Too busy I guess! See you on the water, probably hear you first though! Think he really is browsing???? Right now????

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Scoobe,

EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinions and that is IT. Maybe that is what you are trying to tell me.

You see I normally go right past him but I thought I wold make the effort and see if he had progressed beyond punk a$$ raving.

Nope, still the same idiot. Oh well, just my opinion.

Someday he will be a security guard or something somewhere.

For now he is a TV star.

Question do they make GOOD fishing shows?

IMO the biggest problem with almost every fishing show out there is that they don't focus on fishing!
What's wrong with the NESN charlie moore show is charlie moore, the rest of it is pretty good, the gear (boat & rods) the camera & sound crew, the locations i like. charlie i dont.
What bothers me most is that theres a tons of guys out there who are so much better than him and will never get the chance to share what they've learned. Meanwhile the nitwit is probably dumbing down the people watching it. I want a host that is an experinced, well rounded fisherman. Just as important is that he knows how to explain the in's and out's of what he's doing...hard to do while you're hooting and hollering.
I Don't know about you guys, but when I turn on a fishing show i dont want to see the fancy lodge, don't care for 'celebrity guests' that have never been fishing, and i don't want to see some yokel go from one fishing paradise to another, putting no effort into what they're doing.

Some people will do anything to make a name for themselves.
ok, rant over.

Nothing dark about it SQD.

It's an opinion and some of us can have.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread for something as such.

For those of us that put a lot of time into fishing it hurts to see someone treat it so nonchalantly.

Especially if they are a wanker !

That's for you Bigfish

The only thing Charlie Moore does is make me nostalgic about old Gadabout Gaddis shows, but that's when men were men and the fish were afraid.

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

The biggest thing that irritates me about almost all fishing shows is that they don't focus on the fundementals of the fish they are targeting. They don't get into baits, lures, tackle, methods of fishing the tackle such as fast, slow, etc. So, what happens is you end up sitting there all glassy eyed, watching what was probably many hours if not days, of tape pieced together of the host catching fish after fish and at the end of it, you really didn't get anything of substance out of the show.
They need someone that can dedicate each show to something of value like maybe reading the water, or working plugs, surf casting. The list could go on and on and for many species as well.
If they did something like that, I wouldn't miss an episode.
Well that's my .02 worth.

The future ain't what it used to be. --Yogi Berra

fishing shows for the most part are a waste of time . most dont give good info for beginners , they travel to places most anglers cant afford too . and for the most part the host is a ........ . but sometimes you get some good video . I watched that turd Charlie for the first time last night what an idiot !
