Hope you don't have a garden....... if so, you probably won't think they are so cute.

Maybe the Last Photo in Nest
Well I just took a peek in the nest and these guys are really getting big. One of them bolted across the yard. I had to chase him down, put him in my ball cap, and put him back in the nest. I was lucky to catch him.
Anyway there are only 6 in there now, so either 2 were someone's lunch or they already left the nest. I can't imagine and animal would have eaten 2 and left the rest. I hope it's the later.
Also, I say a gray fox in my backyard today. I hope he doesn't come back.
Cheers!

Well this morning they are all gone. I sort expected to wake up this morning and not find them.
A bit of sad news though, I found one on the lawn, not sure what happened to him, but at least one didn't make it.
I hope the rest of them made it ok.

sadly it looks like he fell or was pushed out of the nest, to young to fly yet, looks like a blue jay chick...
he was probly the weakest in the nest either that or he got to close to the edge....
thats a great photo though, really clear....
poor lil guy

That may be true, but amazingly I actually caught the mother (or father) feeding the little guy on the ground. Also, they were sticking close to him from the tree above. I couldn't see a nest anywhere though or I'd try to put him back in. He's pretty mobil hopping all around so perhaps the nest is a way off.

BlueJays will kick your ass if you get too close to the nest/baby.

The little bird is doing great. He's doing short little test flights all over the yard with mommy watching close by. Here's a picture of mommy.

Adult birds will abandon their nest and young if you disturb them. Best thing to do is stay away and let momma take care of its baby.
