Truly big blues (those approaching 15# and more) are an awsome fish, especially from the surf. They can be as challenging as any bass.

I've seen them crashing the surface or laying low and only wanting to snuggle up to a piece of bait, and then other times come up behind a slow chugged popper like a tarpon behind a fly.

Truly, the "poor man's sport fish"!!

Schoolie? Anything happenin' down at Earwig Cove? I have a CAT scan Saturday night (fluidless) and with High tide at 11:30 - I'm thinking of fishing the New Moon drop down through daybreak... Clammer - you up for a little Road Trip?

The topwater action of last fall seems like a lifetime ago. Can't wait for it to reappear in the coming weeks. Let's keep area reports coming!
Don't wish too hard on that one please, because although I'm anxiously waiting, following fall is winter . I'd really rather restart the clock on this season, John can't you do something about that, install some reset button or something .

Clammer, where the blues out today? I stopped by Conimicut but very little of fish news - I'll post the other news on a different thread...

I have a doctor's appointment Sat evening but after that I'm open - I may do some scouting Friday AM...

Well hello mother... I'm trying to take care of myself - eating better foods and such - but not getting in enough real excersize. But the more, different stuff the Doc gives me, the worse it seems to get - not really but it does SEEM that way, well maybe a little worse...

Schoolie? Did you hit Earwig Cove? I'm thinking about hitting it before work Friday...

As a matter of fact, I did make a trip down last night. The surf was pretty heavy and the water was really mucked up and weedy. Weeds weren't so bad you couldn't fish, but the water clarity was bad.

Not a stinkin' hit.

I'll probably go thursday night as I doubt I'll be able to get out this weekend. I've got the kid while the wife is outta town. But let me know if you're going 'cause I may be able to get my mom to babysit.

Schoolie - I might still give it a whirl Friday AM - I may also korker that area to the right... Just need to see how much time and tide I have to work with...

GS - Any action in the vicinity of that area I showed you?

Clammer - still interested in giving something a whirl Saturday night? Either from boat or shore (be nice for you get to get some biggins on that SURF rod instead of just from the boat)....

Later

I hit bass/blues shallow on Sunday, but closer to Scituate harbor and never made it down that far. The last couple times I've hit the spot, haven't produced well. I might have Saturday free for you if your interested, I'll be out this afternoon late with my usual partner, who has been noticably absent from my boat this year. He's got a ton of family stuff on his plate and he's chomping at the bit to get out with me, but if this weekend pans out like the rest, he will not be free to fish Saturday. Let me know if your interested.

Probably not worth an extended trip to the pooch house but I'm going to scout Friday night. When I was mentioning it earlier in the week I was thinking Saturday night... I'll let you know if it's doghousable...

John, I'm about 90% for tonight so I'll definitely give you a report if I go. If you're gonna hit it tomorrow, I may be able to hook up with you.

Though, if nothing is happening tonight, I may use my babysit card for saturday morning to get the boat out. Maybe if the weather is good, I'll launch out of Scituate and hook up with you and Bob out on the water.
