Fishsmith, I am gonna guess that you are a 20-something and never saw a truely great pitcher in action.....Ryan, Hunter, Palmer, Sutton, Carlton, the list goes on and I don't have time to continue....but Pedro could not carry the jock of any of these guys I named and many more I didn't (due to lack of time)

So how old are you?

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

34 so at 5yrs old Fisk hit the homer, I remember the re-runs, but '86 was the first real pain I endured, and got to see Clemens in stage 1 of his career. But I believe Pedro can stand right next to the guys you listed. I'll get some stats together, but right now my 6yr old is screaming 'daddy won't listen to me', so I've got to go.

He ain't in the same league as Clemens I can tell you that! (No pun intended...seein' as how they are both in the NL now! ) Pedro is tailing off as he gets older...Clemens just got better, more wiley!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I saw them all. Ryan, Palmer and Lefty were far superior to Pedro. I think he's better than Sutton. Catfish---close. Three rings with the As and his years with the Yankees didn't hurt his HOF chances. Pedro played on lousy teams until he came to the Sox.

I agree Mike...better than Sutton but Pedro will never win 300+ games!

Me likey Catfish Hunter....he was a true pitcher. RIP

By the way...we are talking about guys who would have 15-20 complete games a year! Not like today where they have a whopping 2 or 3!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Bigfish I do not know how you can make a statement like that. I believe Pedro is 1st or 2nd in career ERA, right next to Koufax and he is also in the top couple in win %. I am not old enough to see all the great pitchers but there is no doubt he is one of the great pitchers of all time and will be a first ballot hall of famer. Look at these stats.SEASON TEAM W L ERA G GS CG SHO SV SVO IP H R ER HR HBP BB SO
