We always called this period the 'staging" time. the bass are staging for the migration. They aren't migrating yet but they are preparing to migrate.

mega-blitz up here on the N. Shore early this evening. Normally do not see it til late September. Tons of tiny peanut bunker being forced into suicide. Bass/Blue mix.

there were an insane amount of people out last night, drove by one spot and kept right on going. must;ve been at least 10 trucks there, a bunch with S-B stickers...

This time of year (late August) is when bass are where they are supposed to be.
I think that is why everyone is "seeing" them. They are in their traditional areas,
feeding and getting fat. It seems like everyone is "seeing" bass right now. I think I will go fishing now.
