Overall, a slower season for me;
My usually reliable spring fishing in the bay was limited due to SW and fog most nights (not good for a 13ft whaler) but the nights I did get out I limited almost everytime unless my co-capt from Iowa got spooked by lightnin'
Mid summer S-U-C-K-E-D
Sept.. was OK; best fish came on the nastiest of nights when it was SW30+ and HUGE, a quick run of numbers and decent size early in the month
Oct; so far so-so; some guys have been tongin em I've been picken; a few decent fish;
Looking forward to a good Nov; starting at the 'chop and then back in SoCo till at least Turkey day...
it aint over by a long shot, the bait is JUST showing up in force.... right Chef

My best morning was the 2 hrs I spent in Newport bangin them with my creamsicle... Think about it all the time
Catching Albies with about 20 guys from the club and this site at Wasque, watching the rods bend and the reels scream. After spending the morning before catching 22 bonito..What a place...
The Maine Tri-State fishing under the Northern Lights one morning..
The Mass Tri-State slamming blues with about 15 guys from the club..
It would be pretty hard to name all the guys I have met and fished with this year.
Basic PP
BobBike
Surf Pirate
JohnR
Fishaholic18
Canalman
Topwater
RockyRhody
Ah forget it, way to many to name and I wouldn't want to leave anyone off.
The last guy I met was RockHound, good talkin with ya.. Between the people I have met thru MSBA and S-B I feel pretty lucky to move in a circle of such great fishermen.
For me it is not over, still fishing time..Got a few people I want to fish with. The past two weekends have me thirsty to take some more rides South. I could fish that place area every night and never get sick of it, so many choices...That and I hear the Block calling my name...
I think the best is yet to come...........

Used hard and put away dirty....

Not much of a year for me as my health and family(boys 1 and 4) keep me busy/grounded, tomorrow I am sneeking out and I have high hopes.

Best moments: Getting Out!
Seeing soon to be brother-in-law hook his first striper on the
Cape
Meeting Reelecstacy with nice bass in hand
Every moment spent w/ fishing partner in SoCo - my Dad

Regrets: None

This was my first season as a regular browser and contributer on SB and I found a lot of insightfull tips and topics discussed. I Had my best year ever!! I didn't catch my biggest ever but caught more decent sized fish, fairly consistantly. My favorite moment this year was actually off shore. I got lucky and grabbed a spot on my friends boat and caught this beautiful Blue fin Tuna, see picture. I had some interaction with Big Fish and Sandman, Lurch and a few others but never did get to wet a line with anyone?

So Seeing that the fish are not quite gone yet and I'm not ready to throw in the towel either. Any one want to meet up in Rhody this weekend? I'm probably going to make the trip regardless but if you want some company I would be happy to make one last push for a cow. Drop me a PM

Yet you have no problem recounting the specific details of events if it's about giving me a load of crap

most memorable, not best..

was Friday night. By myself, I trip and fell backwards down a rocky slope in which I was luckily saved as my back slammed into the one rock that stuck up as opposed to the others which slope steeply toward the 10' rocky drop into a river. Near flood current running like a moon canal tide. I kinda felt like someone was watching out for me. Turns my stomach when I look at the spot and the serious danger I would have been if I had been a foot or so to the left or right.
A few minutes later after getting my legs back, I hooked my second fish in three casts that I fought for at least 50 minutes before I did something stupid and my 50lb pp snapped. I don't know if I could have got that fish as even if it died I would have had a hard time dragging it back against the current and I couldn't get any closer due to obstructions.

Only silver liing is that it was a place I fish regularly, where i never really expected to hook something that big and will be better prepared in the future.

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

my season

Just joined this site this year. Grateful for some tackle/boat tips from some of the guys here. Haven't fished with anyone from here yet but I'm sure I will. Got some nice wood from a couple of guys to "initate me" to wood.

Few times come quick to mind...

100 + fish day in Boston Harbor

18# tuna on my 9 wt.

going many times with my 12 yr son-him on hooked on fishing-"priceless"

I remember the night now; where you fished last night, it was a pre-dawn trip near the full moon right......

Spence isn't nothing if he isn't memorable...
